TurboTax has always been thorough and pretty clear. It's been my choice for tax prep for nearly 20 years. I anticipate it will continue to be.
What's great about it: Seems quite thorough
What's not so great: not always clear in advance what consequences are of answering a given question this way or that
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used T-Tax for enough years that I am immune to the IRS flue I used to get each year. After importing the previous year's information, all I do is enter numbers from the required tax documents. Even adding a new document is no problem. T-Tax highlights what is required and also checks that the necessary boxes are filled. I have yet to scan or photo enter any new docs, but know I can do so. The comparison each year of the current return with the past year's return jogs my memory so that nothing is overlooked. Finally, e-filing of both State and Federal returns is super and speeds getting any monies back into my account. Thank you Turbo Tax for many good returns.
What's great about it: Every year I save time by importing previous year's information!
What's not so great: Can't think of any!

Ran smoother but with every new update, it took longer to load and run. Started having script errors with various updates and had to restart the program before continuing.
What's great about it: Ran smoother than last years version.
What's not so great: Every update got slower to load
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fantastic, especially for the small business man. Incredible when it comes to depreciation, carryovers, and general guidance.
What's great about it: First year usage was fun learning and every year since gets easier and easier
What's not so great: Rarely happens - but help aids are always there.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax home and business is still superior to H&R Block in my estimation. The ability to import W-2's, 1099 Div's and 1099 B's make it worth the price. If you've got a lot of capital gains in stock it can get a little weird but that may have been my broker's firm's problem. Follow up status e-mails are sweet. Nice job intuit!
What's great about it: Assurance Calcs are right and comprehensive interview approach
What's not so great: A roadmap would help on some of the more obscure stuff
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I would really like to be able to print individual pages. My list of supplies changes from year to year. I also get confused about what goes where - supplies, other expenses. Thanks

Some Changes from Last Year

The step by step quality of Turbo Tax is good. I was able to add a new business venture with no trouble. My only complaint is that in prior years, there's been a summary screen showing, not only your tax bracket in percent, but where you stand statistically. That screen is gone, and I was unable to locate my bracket at all. I tried 'Help' on Tax Bracket and it just gave me a list of explanations, not a "How to" in the program.
What's great about it: No problem following guide.
What's not so great: Unable to find an indication of my tax bracket.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
