Works for Me

been using turbotax for more years than I care to recall - from the old DOS days to present. For a few years in the beginning of my career, I hired an accountant when I had a small biz. I learned a lot from him and transitioned to turbotax when I moved back to being an employee. That first year had partial business operations, moving expenses and a few months as an employee - turbotax handled it all perfectly and I was on my way - most years have been pretty simple but I did have property sales, home converted to rental property, and then sold for which I did seek out some advice. Overall, turbotax has been accurate and comprehensive. My only complaint may be in recent years, the feeling of being more and more isolated from the actual return. But I frequently go into form mode to review everything line by line. Otherwise, the up-selling of add-on services would be nice to see eliminated. For most people the audit defense service is simply a waste. I used to complain about the what-if to check out scenarios but that seems easier now. I generally use the what-if to project next year assuming no major changes to the laws, income or expenses. It at least offers a peek at the possible outcome.
What's great about it: easy to switch from auto mode to manual form mode, covers all bases, accurate and easy to make archive copies
What's not so great: sometimes feel isolated in the auto mode, always trying to up-sell add-on services
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I'd never use anything or anyone else. Period.
What's great about it: Everything - particularly feeling as if walked through by friendly experts.
What's not so great: NONE

Some suggestions

You could easily provide the RMD for IRA distributions rather than making me figure it out, as long as I used TT last year. (I have used it for 20 years or more.) You have the IRA amount at the end of the previous year from last year's form 5498, and you have the DOB. There were several other places where the program demands I get an answer from last year's return rather than just checking it. Why not transfer those figures when transferring date from last year? You could say, "Here's what we transferred from your previous return" and you do that in some cases.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Makes me do work TT could do

As We Get Older, We Need Help LOL!

Love Turbo Tax ~ been using it for about 5 or so years since my accountant passed away. Regarding my "Cons" comment ~ it would be great to have a dialog box titled "Take me to my ..." I needed to make an adjustment to my estimated tax worksheet, and had a hard time finding them. I found what I needed in "Forms", but that doesn't allow for editing, at least not what I saw. Thanks for a great product!
What's great about it: import previous years' information, ability to "walk me through" or "work on it myself"
What's not so great: a "where's my" dialog box would be a benefit

Frustration!

Sometimes I had to force feed TT H&B to get information to be reflected on other required forms. Rules for HSA still have not been fixed in total. Not recommended for going from a HDHP to Medicare in mid-year if you have been funding your HSA. Required the assistance of a paid preparer to get the HSA to Medicare migration correct.
What's great about it: Loads easily, runs on Win-10
What's not so great: Math is flaky, Can't Print eFile Confirmation

I'm a faithful TT user and have been impressed with it for years. I still do mine and my kids each year.
What's great about it: Easy to use, research topics, get questions answered

Great Product

No real problems this year - we've used TurboTax for more than 10 years. A little more clarity on the e-filing pin would be helpful. In Illinois we can e-file our return free through the IL Dept of Revenue but we do have to re enter all the data. It would be nice if we could use the TurboTax e-file for free and avoid all that hassle.
What's great about it: Fast and easy - Particulary for a business owner
What's not so great: I want a free state e-file.
