Mostly right, some room for improvement

I've been using TurboTax for years even though my wife works for a major tax preparation service. I like being able to put in data as I get it. I jump around from business to personal, income and expenses. I also jump between interview and forms. This really helps if you want to understand how your answers make it onto the page. That's especially useful if you weren't sure exactly how to answer a question or enter data.
This year's forms were messier because I changed states. It would have been helpful to have a side-by-side comparison of how I allocated income and expenses to each state so I could be sure I didn't pay tax on the same income twice.
Also after checking for updates and installing them, on my PC I always had to restart TurboTax to continue my return.
What's great about it: Getting easier to use
What's not so great: Needs multi-state comparison

Had used TurboTax Home and Business for years, then last year tried a freebie, online program. What a mistake! I quickly realized just how many advantages and time-saving features there are to TurboTax. This year, I was so glad to get back to "normal." Thanks, Intuit!
What's great about it: Simple interface, detailed walk-through, save your work anytime, reliable and official results
What's not so great: At times, even TurboTax can't make sense of the tax laws

Easy P-easy

Who likes doing the paper work. I'm not an accountant so I'm always sweating bullets to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. Albeit it takes awhile, but worth the time. And I like the go back option as well as the explanations of certain tasks you are doing. Turbo Tax less sweat and certainly compared to how much you might pay a tax service to prepare your taxes, who is probably using a similar program. By the way if this helps, Turbo Taxes was recommended by an Accountant. I thought that was a pretty solid recommendation.

very easy to use

this year I was going to pay someone to do my taxes as my statis had changed and wasn't sure I could do the taxes on my own. When the tax preparer sent my the questionnaire package to fill out it look just like all the questions I knew I'd be asked with turbo tax so I decided to go for it with Turbo Tax. It was the right decision.

confusion on the 8594 form

Had to research all the info on the 8594 and get form from government. you should have had the info on the business section of the turbo tax. Had to get info on it from your FAQ listing.
What's great about it: couldn't have done this manually.
What's not so great: no help on the 8594 form

Glad its over

Turbo Tax is great for allowing a non tax person like myself to do their own taxes. It always makes me a little nervous regardless of how good the program is. However I have used TT for the past 8 years at least and have never had any problem with using the software or understanding the pop up windows they provide for information.
What's great about it: Good I could do it myself
What's not so great: not an expert tax person
