excess traditional ira contribution sent in 2015. ira fund sent back excess plus earnings before filing date in 2016.
irs requested that only information needed was form 1040, line 15, A and B input and explanation statement.
could not get any of the turbo tax methods listed to work without changing tax on earnings or applying 6% penalty.
could be we missed something in your instructions.
What's great about it: great product as usual
What's not so great: problem with excess ira contribution for current year fix.

I away use turbo tax to do my taxes and I never had a problem yet, great step by step intructions.

I thought i only needed a PIN # if the 1st name on the 1040 had one. My wife had one and the efile bounced. The it seemed that it wanted to file and amended return. I finally worked it out. Hopefully it passes mustard with the IRS.
What's great about it: Excellent as always I am a long term user
What's not so great: IP PIN # section is a little vague

Still difficult to navigate

Generally speaking, it works well, but I would really like to be able to jump back and fix something without having to answer all of the same questions again. The hassels answering all of the questions in order to efile, keeps me away from trying to efile. It is easier to file with paper, except that we get way too many pages from the printer. I am looking for a more simple plan, but so far I am unsuccessful. They all seem to be difficult.
What's great about it: Everything seems to be there
What's not so great: Challenge going back to change/fix something.

Taxes made easy!

This is the first time I have been brave enough to do my own taxes! It was made so easy by the step by step feature...I will be doing my own taxes from now on!!!
What's great about it: I liked how it walked me through every step
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Mixed results

I am a long time user and always find working on my taxes an easy experience. Cons: I had to update to Home and Business and much of my 2014 Deluxe didn't transfer. Comparing taxes shows the problem. I had liked this comparing while working on the taxes because it would show me what i did last year and reminded me. Plus paying for the state wasn't an easy experience.
What's great about it: Easy to follow along
What's not so great: Missing 2014 data!

Easier than Usual

This program was much easier to scroll back and forth from the forms to "easy step". I also didn't have any trouble leaving it, and coming back to exactly where I had left off. The process for e-filing was also simple this year. Good job!

My Favorite Tax Software

Have used this product for years. It is very easy to use. Have a small business, and it just leads you right through the entire Schedule C. Sold stock and it led me through every step. You can get your questions answered in the community or Turbo Tax help. Feel like I am getting every penny I can back. Highly recommend.
