Simple to use. Points out the raw records needed. I've used both the Guide and self-guide methods with good and quick results on each method. I use the Guide when I encounter a new tax situation. Good audit checks- I've only ever had a random audit, but still had satisfactory results.
What's great about it: I thought it simple to work through. I used both the Guide and self-guide through the sections.
What's not so great: When returning to a place left off in the Return, I couldn't go directly to the last question.

Complex made simple

TurbonTax 2015 was exceptionally easy to use - a dream come true. I've used TurboTax for about 25 years and it gets better each and every year. The tax laws are so complex that it's impossible to do them by yourself. Going to an agent is much more expensive than using TurboTax. It's the best way to both save money and be sure all the calculations and information is correct. Why would anyone go elsewhere?
What's great about it: Fully guided a step at a time with explanations all along the way.
What's not so great: A bit more explanation in some complex issues would be helpful.

Gaps in the flow cause risk to return

The product has always been decent - but security, and completeness are clear areas that need improvement. It is still TOO EASY for fraudulent filings. Though the IRS provides codes now to help prevent fraud, the software DID NOT ASK FOR IT and let me file anyway and rejected. Then, it wouldn't let me re-e-file - wanted me to print and amend (amend a return that didn't get accepted?). I had to shortcut steps to get the efile to work - well, I hope it works this time. I'm disappointed, but once you're in, it's hard to move to a different platform - they know this.
What's great about it: Guidance is good when it is there. Makes step-by-step easy.
What's not so great: Gaps in workflow cause missed items and therefore risk to a successful return.

Great Software

For instance I only found out after extensive calls with support that I needed the Home and Business version to be able to complete the worksheets 1-7 of Form 8949. I could not do that with the deLuxe or premium versions and I could not find if it explained that anywhere. That made me lose a lot of time. So a bit more explanation would be of benefit.
Otherwise it is a great program.I had no other problems using it after my taxes were prepared the last 20 or so years by a tax preparer.

What's great about it: Difficult to forget anything! Systematic!
What's not so great: Not enough explanation sometimes about different software versions
