getting better

I entered 1099 income early in the questionnaire process for my business. Later, I found a different place to enter 1099 misc. income, along with the amount I had entered there from last year.This was confusing and disconcerting.
Also, why not just have a place where I can enter equipment I purchased, and then in the same area, equipment I've sold? This is so unclear where the sold equipment should be entered. Argh!!
Overall I thought the program was cleaner and easier than last year though. Keep improving!
What's great about it: easier to use than before
What's not so great: Two places to enter 1099 misc income. Very confusing. Also, not clear where to list equipment I've sold.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Clunky final filing steps

We kept getting inaccurate error messages which wouldn't allow us to file. We were able to file Federal and then in going back to file the State return it kept thinking that we still needed to file the Federal - and wouldn't let us move past that step...
What's great about it: Easy to compare to previous year and to enter information
What's not so great: Clunky filing

Needs some tweaking

Almost everything is great. However, please look at the Foreign Tax credit (Form 1116). For several years in a row now I've gotten an error message at the end that the required statements are not included and I've struggled to find out what those statements should include.

who needs an accoauntant

i work w/computers every day so I'm familiar with navagating them and their software. i've used turbotax for 5 yrs and this is the first time i had to try and delete an unwanted pg. extra help and all the rest of the help items offered were no help at all. took me 1 hr to figure it out on my own

freeze ups of program while working on data

On a windows10 64 bit system and using TurboTax for personal and small C business, every 8-10 mins or so the program would freeze. the only thing left to do was control alt delete and shut down the program in task manager.
This wasn't a huge problem if I remembered to Ctr S to save the data after each data entry and each page. But it still was an annoyance. I found no detail for fixing this problem in the online Intuit help site....except to wait 15 minutes to see if the program would unfreeze ...HUH?...
Otherwise the program worked and calculated properly. I am a retired EA and this is the first time I've used Intuit Home /office product. I have used ProSeries by Turbo Tax for YEARS. Loved that product, didn't like this home version with all the freezes...next year I will probably consider another product.
PS: I was unable to install the program completely on my desktop and was forced to install it on my laptop.

Turbo Tax has been our Tax Package of Choice for 14 years!
What's great about it: Great flow to complete multiple tax sections. Nice What-Ifs!

2015 Return Problems

Loading Turbo Tax returns from prior years was difficult and took about 30 minutes to get this done. Following the menu choice resulted in the Mac pinwheel to go on "forever", which required a force quit to get out. The on-line help Q&A provided no useful information on my specific problem. I finally solved the problem by importing the pdf version of the return.
What's great about it: The functionality was fine and the prompts were helpful. Easy to complete the return.
What's not so great: Loading Turbo Tax returns from prior years was difficult and took about 30 minutes.
