2015 Struggle

Walking through the steps is not as easy if the taxpayer is a minister. If you don't do quit of bit referencing IRS code sections as you go, information could easily be entered into a wrong section. i.e., finding out that 501(3) organizations have 403(b) retirement plans vs. standard IRA and where reporting is done.
Never could find out if inherited MONIES needed to be reported to IRS and if so, where. I understand that those monies are not taxable income.

What's great about it: Most areas very clear, easy to complete., and well-guided.

THE PROGRAM DID NOT PRINT FORM 8962 AS THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICES SENT MY RETURN BACK BECAUSE IT DID NOT CONTAIN THE FORM.

I'll Never Hire an Accountant Again

Gone are the days of my accountant spending 20 minutes with me just to have me owe money to the state and fed government. I love how TurboTax leads me through each step and in a logical, deeply thoughtful way. It allows for customization of my user experience—and not just with personal income taxes, but for my consulting business & my husband's consulting business. There's no going back from TurboTax. L-O-V-E it.
What's great about it: Wizard-like guidance through each step; non-linear layout option; more in-depth assistance, as needed.
What's not so great: In-app adds are a bit annoying, but expected.

Great Refund

Easy for anyone to use. Detailed explanation of every itemized deduction so I didnt loose any penny.
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Installation and Update takes long time.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I had a baby

Really disappointed that I had to create work around's because I have a Windows 10 laptop. Needs to be addressed by Intuit immediately.

Turbo Tax Use

I have been using TurboTax for at least 15 years. Twice I switched to other programs but only for one year each and came right back to TurboTax because of the ease of use and because of the ability of this program to lead you, step by step, to the completion of the tax returns. Although the program is very easy to use, it can mislead the unwary user. Even this year I was prompted to enter the same information twice until I realized what I did and I backtracked and removed the duplicated entry. It would have been nice if the software had caught the duplicate entry and would have asked me if I really wanted to do that. But, no program is perfect and TurboTax comes to perfection as close as possible.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: You have to be careful not to miss items
