selling house issue

I have used Turbo-Tax for many years. This time my wife and I sold a house for which we owed taxes. We knew that but found the Turbo Tax process very clumsy. I would have prefered a bit more detail and a step by step for the numerous procedures needed to follow. I first read and did the detail work using the federal forms and worksheets and surprisingly they were easier to understand(!!!!!) than the TurboTax procedures which seemed to cut corners and made it too simplistic. A balance is needed there.

Made life so easy

My first year as a real estate agent and decided to get turbo tax to help with all the deductions. Super easy, I will definitely be buying this every year.
What's great about it: Simplicity of questions, online forum to help answer questions, step by step guidance, ability to edit easily
What's not so great: none other than I had to pay in :)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Same as every year. Makes the best out of a bad situation. Nobody LIKES to do their taxes, but as a former Enrolled Agent this program makes it very easy to complete an accurate return that doesn't miss out on deductions and doesn't take you to audit peril.
What's great about it: Has all needed forms for the Average Joe with a business
What's not so great: Sometimes seems disjointed in following instructions

Great Product

We have used TurboTax for many years after switching over from TaxCut. A couple years back we went through some life changes (sold income property, both retired from corporate jobs and started new LLCs). That year was an accounting nightmare so we hired an accountant to professionally do the taxes for us. Although the accountants version was very complex we were able to fully replicate the submission at home using the TurboTax guided wizard. Since the wizard remembers year to year it is now like having the accountant with us every year. Awesome!

How good is Turbotax?

I find Turbotax to be easy to follow and thorough in analyzing my tax situation. When I file the return I feel confident that all material information has been correctly covered and is accurate. That gives me a sense of peace in waiting fo my refund.
What's great about it: easy to follow; thorough; accurate
What's not so great: Maybe overly meticulous, but I'd reather be that way than careless

I completed the Federal and State return (Ohio) with ease. Imported most info. I then had it reviewed by a third party. They indicated the federal return was perfect. The State of Ohio had updated forms and just released 'IP-BUS' Forms. Turbo Tax had just updated forms and it was included. I found the form and easily completed the Tax return.
What's great about it: Comprehensive coverage, ease of use
