What's great about it: easy to use, has historical data
What's not so great: Buying more than I need . Don't need to include a business software with a personal tax return. Starting to get pricey

Excellent Software!

After my accountant started charging me way more than I thought I should be paying for doing my taxes, I tried Turbo Tax about 7 years ago. I have never looked back since because:
1) TurboTax Home and Business saved me over $1000/year.
2) I could do variations of my return for some items applicable to more than one category.
3) Learned so much about how our tax system works - eg. what you need account and what you don't need to account.
4) I get to file when I want to file, which is usually early.
5) Now that I have been using TurboTax for some years, it takes me less time to do my taxes with each year. Most of the time is spent gathering my data.

What's not so great: To change things you sometimes have to go through a few extra prompts

I have used turbo tax for 3 years now. It really helped me when my son was in college . It helped me figure out what forms I needed and I got more deduction with turbo tax.
I did problems with the Ohio state business reduction. I thought turbo tax would have put numbers itself. I didn't know why I had to do it myself. That confused me . I had to call state to figure that out. That made a big change in my refund.

Easy to use, good explanations and resources for questions. The more complicated my return gets, the easier it is to work through it with the yearly improvements. I have used Turbo tax for the past 20 years and will continue.
What's great about it: Easier to understand, work at your own pace, community @ your fingertips for help.
What's not so great: The program should start with Personal Income 1st not Business.

Easy Way to File Tax Returns

I have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years and I am completely satisfied with it. Only problem I have encountered is that some questions are not clear. Particularly on sch. D of AL state tax the question addressed only real estate related details but not stock/bond investments related, which are also included on that schedule.
The convenience of automatic transfer and carry forward of historic data is invaluable. Every year it seems to be evolving for better.
What's great about it: Comprehensive coverage. Knowing that it will be accurate.
What's not so great: Some questions are not clear.

Overall, the software is good and customer service was AWESOME!! I forgot her name but she walked me through fixing the issue I was having and made sure i was able to submit my tax papers. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
What's great about it: very user friendly
What's not so great: needs more details when encountering issues during filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
