marginal tax tool

Great tool if you have a simple tax filing. Did not properly address Obamacare stuff. Does not read TXF files for K1s and other complicated forms. Does not know how to split income for AR non-community property taxes. Does not track carry forward amounts that go back multiple years
What's not so great: missing much capability including results of court rulings

Could have been a little more helpful

I had to do a web search for a lot of fields on the KY Business forms. I was presented with fill in boxes for my LLC with almost no description as to what should be entered.
What's great about it: Federal Personal and Business Taxes were easy
What's not so great: Almost no help on KY State business fields
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Problems with this system

Was a member of a MLP for a few yars then sold shares. T Tax refuses to let me indicate I am no longer a partner and it asks me now for two years where is my K-1. What a pain this is. Fix it guys, this week, this year.
What's great about it: incessant reminders

Lifesaver for DIY Taxes

I've been using TurboTax since it first came out and have been pleased with how easy it is to use. I would like to see some things brought back to the program like there used to be questions and answers on the side of the page where you were working pertaining to the subject you were working on and it made it easier to look for and find answers to questions you might have. I feel like I wasn't given enough direction at times as to where to look for an answer or how to answer a question. But, other than those few little things I wouldn't use any other program.
What's great about it: Does the calculations, walks you through step by step, has places to get advice, asks questions along the way
What's not so great: Assumes you know more than you do, doesn't direct you,

Asked all the correct questions for tax returns.
Just seemed like it took forever to get the return prepared.

Extremely happy with Turbo-Tax, it provided excellent guidance in completing my tax returns.
What's great about it: Great site, provides a lot of information to assit you in doing your own taxes
What's not so great: No big problem, just takes a little time to familiarize one-self to site.
