TurboTax is a great program. Makes doing your own taxes almost easy, although still tedious. I've noticed that the glitches seem to be slowly growing as the years go by. Users need to be patient and go through the program more than once (or twice) to make sure all is well. Also, sometimes things get carried over to the state return(s) demanding an explanation and users have no idea of what the problem is.
What's great about it: Very comprehensive
What's not so great: Sometimes a bit buggy Need to keep after it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's not so great: We had to pay, but not TurboTax's fault
Pros: I bought or sold investments

couple of areas I felt can be improved
1. Once select a state, I could change the state. there should be an option to change the state.
2. mistaken i entered that i sold a business property and the software asked for how much, i entered the amount and my tax return changed. there is no delete buytton.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Can't convert PDF file to .tax file
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Watch out for the TurboTax Zinger
on February 29, 2016

For the last 4 years I have been using TurboTax Software to do my family taxes. We have 6 children. It is easy to use and takes you through a logical process. However, this year we were hit with a real zinger that TurboTax doesn't tell you about. I finished doing my 6th child's taxes and the software told me I couldn't e-file my taxes. I was forced to print everything out and file the return by mail. A big problem, especially since Turbotax doesn't even print out a Federal Instruction sheet on how to file your federal taxes. So you just sit there looking at your federal return wondering what you should do. I bought Turbotax to electronically file my returns, not go back 10 years and do it manually by hand. I am very disappointed that Turbotax didn't make me aware that I reached my electronic filling limit of 5 before I started the 6th return. If I would have known, I would not of used the software. Turbotax does print out a State instruction sheet. Solution: TurboTax should clearly state their software now has limits on how many returns it can file electronically. Secondly, TurboTax should provide a Federal instruction sheet on how to file your Federal Income Taxes. After all, isn't that what tax software is suppose to do? You shouldn't fail on your primary function as a software company. I know TurboTax will blame the limit on the government or some other entity. But the fact remains, TurboTax should inform the user they can no longer file another electronic return before I start my 6th return.
What's great about it: Software works great and easy to use
What's not so great: TurboTax doesn't tell you but it now limits you to 5 e-files. And then your stuck!
