Prior to 2008, used an accountant with no real benefit, other than to her for what she charged!!
Very easy and intuitive, covers all business and personal items to my satisfaction.
Never plan to change from Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Very intuitive, answers questions at the right time
What's not so great: none

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years. They updated their software every year to include more essential information and tips to save you money. You cannot go wrong in choosing turbo tax at any level.
What's great about it: Easy to use, a lot of helpful tips, gides you through your return
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My daughter is under 26, but not a dependent. She is covered by my policy. There was nowhere to enter that. The program keep insisting that there she received a 1095-A, which she didn't (I did), and gave dire warnings about her refund being delayed and then the 1095-A request disappeared and I couldn't get back to that screen. I spent over an hour on just that entry, going to the IRS website and to the forms screens on Turbo Tax. Still not sure it was entered correctly.
What's not so great: Health care

Turbo Tax makes filing self-employment tax very quick and easy to understand. It walks you through each category, and if you have your paperwork in order, the process is simple and as painless as doing your taxes can be.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: Nothing

SOFTWARE CRASHED LOST RETURN
on February 28, 2016
Posted by: ReadytoChange
I've used Turbo tax for greater than 10 years and expect more from it. Today it crashed and I lost the entire return. I clicked save as I worked through it and apparently it was not saving data or the crash was so large the entire file was lost.
Massachusetts is difficult to use. It is not easy or intuitive to enter MA bank interest. I do not believe the NY pension was handled correctly in that the software exempted the entire amount.
In addition, I paid about 60% more for the software to get a Schedule C included in the package.

Easier than Last Year
on February 28, 2016

Overall better than last year. Its good to see continuous improvement to an already good product.
What's great about it: Less ambiguous than last year, had to do less to define terms
What's not so great: Less aware of what was going on in the background to fill in the actual forms.
