Not so much for the money

The schedule F did not have a place to include the commission for selling your cattle nor for the associated fees involved .
What's great about it: free federal e-file ( just like any of them)
What's not so great: Left out spots for certain deductions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good but...

This is my first year using Turbo. I found it generally easy to use and quite detailed. The difficulty I had was going back to a previous section and deleting a form. I never could figure it out. I started a small farm this year and began to fill out the "Business" section. Then after trying to figure out how to write off cattle, I discovered there was a "Farm" section. So I tried to delete all the Business forms I'd started, but apparently there was still a business start up cost form. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. Hopefully it doesn't screw up my returns.
What's great about it: Thurough
What's not so great: Difficult to back track

you have an issue with federal form 1310. Software wound not accept box c being blank. Changed entry and filed electronically.... Real mess!

Almost effortless

I had the information all summarized and ready to put in, it went very smoothly from there. I overestimated my tax liability and got a big refund, which was a very pleasant surprise!
What's great about it: Everything was really smooth

Good in Basic tax prep

Will look for alternative next year. Hoping to find software that is more flexible, and that is able to take in new information for the preparation of estimated tax payments....tired of re-calculating outside of the tax software.
What's great about it: doesn't miss the big tax issues
What's not so great: Does a poor job of finding best filing status and deduction method
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax is a Great Way to file your Taxes

After preparing by hand for years we went to Tax Cut for a couple of years and then tried Turbo Tax over fifteen years ago and we've never wanted to use anything else. Even when our taxes had items that we've never had before, all of the help we needed was easy to get and understand, including referencing the IRS publications to give explanations.
The program is also easy to navigate if you need to pass a section while you gather more info and then come back to it when you are ready.
Every year the software is even more user friendly.
What's great about it: The step-by-step tutorial has the help you need with "More Info" buttons
What's not so great: don't have any

The comment at the top if the correction review could be better high lighted. Or when sending there mention that comments are at the top and to use that and not the form that pops up with it.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use.
What's not so great: Sometimes areas can be confusing and the error fix displays can be confusing
