Was very easy to use compared to other tax products. Filed mine and my childrens taxes with little effort. Great product
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: price, not able to put refund on a debit card unless you use turbo Tax online edition, would of thought for the priceo
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Linux

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE create a Linux version of TurboTax! I have been a Linux user for many years, and I am forced to maintain a Windows-based computer just to run TurboTax once per year. Seriously, TurboTax is the ONLY application that forces me to run the loathsome Windows OS.
I have talked to many fellow Linux users about this, and they are either doing what I do to use TurboTax, or they use another means of filing their taxes. Surely there must be enough of a Linux market to justify the creation of a Linux version of TurboTax.
What's great about it: Excellent...been a TT customer for years
What's not so great: There is no Linux version of the software

Double-Dipped

In the last 20 years, I have effectively used Turbo Tax Deluxe & Turbo Tax Home & Business with little problem. However, this year I had occasion to enter the long term capital gain info from the sale of unimproved property and ran into trouble. I found it difficult to enter the correct information required to complete the Form 8949 without the instructions immediately available. The result was that the sale details wound-up incorrectly as two identical line items on the Form 8949 which carried-over also to the Schedule D. The result was Turbo Tax awarded me a refund of $168 instead of the $3573 I was actually due. If I had not manually printed-off and reviewed the completed forms, I would never have found the error and I don't see why the "program" didn't detect the double entry and alert me to the mistake. I really don't know how the double entry occurred but it kind of shakes my faith in the Turbo Tax program.
What's great about it: Used Turbo Tax last 20 years with excellent results
What's not so great: Some how entered same capital gains info twice on Form 8949
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: fast, easy and complete
What's not so great: 1099R from Federal gov entry for Medical Insurance not automatically added to Medical deductions page. Easy to miss it.

Better than any others

Turbo Tax is well worth the money. We have filed the long form for years. The tax sheets seem to get more complicated every year, but this year took quite a leap. Although I did get a bit frustrated trying to find the right spot to enter in some of the data, I know I couldn't have done my taxes without it. I will continue using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Going through the steps, I only had to enter the data. The program entered it where it belonged. Used it for years
What's not so great: Many items were moved around this year, making some items hard to find.

Made it easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. The improvements are not always obvious, sometimes just front end stuff. All in all, I like the program. The crazy entry on the SS form should have been flagged.
What's great about it: Detail of all entries, freedom to follow the steps or do it myself.
What's not so great: Entered a medicare amount as 40,440 instead of 404.40, was not flagged.

Turbo work process very smooth with good detail

Turbo does an excellent job guiding the user through the many forms and questions the IRS and State agencies use. Turbo enabled me to handle moving to another state, sell a house, wrap up renting a house, while continuing to do an excellent and thorough tax solution for my small business. All from one CD!
What's great about it: ease to see forms, ease to switch between menus

Greatest Program

I have been a Turbo Tax user for 25 years, back when it was Parsons. Each year it keeps getting easier. Just love that. With my business and personal taxes, can't be beat!
What's great about it: Love the guided tour. Helps me to focus
