hate education credit calcs

If child graduates high school in may then goes to school in fall turbo tax program wants to force you to take American opp credit. I want to wait to take am opp credit until full school year is used like the next college year when student attends 2 full semesters. Turbo tax is almost impossible to work with in this area everytime through a 1098 form you get to a screen and the only choice is to "click here to maximize your this year credit". No other option on this screen and you are forced out of the question section into opening the forms and brute force doing what you really want not what turdo tax thinks you want..
What's not so great: too canned not enough flexibility

Triumphant Turbo Tax

Been using this software since I was in 10th grade. Awesome software. The only one I would ever use. Very straight forward and easy to use.
What's great about it: great software
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have use Turbo Tax for many year and will continue to do so unless the cost increases more.

Easy-to-Use, Great for Beginners!

This was the first year I did my own taxes, and boy was I nervous! TurboTax made it easy for a novice tax-payer to provide information step-by-step in a user friendly fashion. I was excited to see that each page was automatically reviewed - taking the worry away from forgetting to add any important information! Thank you TurboTax, I will be using you again next year!
What's great about it: Addresses every concern of the first-time user
What's not so great: Can take awhile and could use more instructions.

Way to go Turbo Tax!! My very first time filing taxes EVER & you guys rocked it!! I recommend Turbo Tax to any individual filing their own taxes- it's too easy!

What's great about it: step by step instructions on every single question, if you're not a complete idiot Turbo Tax is very easy to follow!
What's not so great: No cons that stick out to me..

I feel that the software did most of the work for me. The only problem I had was printing a file copy. I did not have PDF on my computer and was not able to even read the finished return. And each time the program started up it seem to take a long time to load (it even said it was taking too long). The dialog at times did not seem to be question and answer, but question and what? what? what? The explanations at times needed explanations to be understood. Still I have tried to fill out the forms manually and that was much worse, so if I had a choice to use Turbo Tax or to do my taxes manually I would most definitely choose to use the Turbo Tax software to complete my income tax forms.
What's great about it: Step by step guide eliminated blanks and omissions
What's not so great: Too much advertising options
