Perfect Timing

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and I have always found it easy to use with online support if needed. It's better than using a tax professional. As an accountant I used to work part-time preparing income taxes during tax season and after so many years of tenuous programs in CPA firms, it was so nice just having the simplicity of Turbo Tax. Since I am now an auditor and I no longer work with taxes, I am thrilled that I have Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Ease of Filing especially when waiting until the last minute

TurboTax trumps other software

I already owned H&R block software but hate it.
So I bought Turbo Tax basic, having used it for years.
It is great to be back on Turbo Tax.

What's great about it: Very clear user interface. Always works
What's not so great: Got a little more expensive last year

Easy Tax Calculating

This is my 24th year to use TurboTax to do my Federal Income Taxes. I know I am getting all of the filing correctly done. I also receive all the deductions that I am entitle to.
What's great about it: Quick and accurate
What's not so great: Cost of program goes up every year

Mac version couldn't import previous year

Bought and installed on my Mac as I have every year for a long time.
Could NOT import previous year's data, including known good files from backups. It's a bug. Contacted support and they were absolutely clueless and useless so I gave up on Intuit solving the problem.
I finally resorted to re-installing the 2014 version of the software and importing 2013 return and saving as bogus 2014 return, then imported that into 2015 return so I wouldn't have to re-enter a lot of routine data.
Next year if it happens again I will return software for a refund and switch to another vendor.
I think Intuit is too interested in online and apps and is neglecting support for real computers. I have zero interest in preparing my taxes online.
What's great about it: I've used the same tool for years
What's not so great: I think Intuit is neglecting installed versions in favor of online etc

Improved product

My unusual retirement situation required some calculations to get the maximum reduction in taxable income. The forms and auto calculations of the numbers entered saved time and aggravation.
What's great about it: Unusual employment situations (calculations) are covered better.
What's not so great: Any deduction/credit requiring dependent status should be highlighted as such on the first screen.

Refund Done

Pretty easy to follow instructions but would like to be advised prior to starting how much information is required so you know what is needed & can just sit down to do this. I had to scramble & find information that I didn't know I needed.
What's great about it: Step by step guide
What's not so great: Requests info from previous year
