I'm a recent college graduate. I've been using turbo tax for 2 years now and I could not be happier. Easy to use, quick, and always maximizes my returns.
What's great about it: Super helpful from start to finish
What's not so great: No cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy with one major gotcha

Have used it for years. Had to file amended returns due to the import feature. Manually entered interest and dividend info from brokerage account then imported sale of stocks information. Found out it also imported the interest and dividend info again. Did not catch this in previous returns so had to amend previous 2 years tax return. It should be smart enough to check for already entered data when importing.
What's great about it: Easy to use, asks all the right questions
What's not so great: Beware of importing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Need more categories for Schedule A deduction in Quicken which will marry up with Turbo Tax. An example is medical insurance. It can only be categorized as Sch A Medical - Doctors , etc
When I transfer it to Turbo tax, it must be deducted from Med expenses - Doctors, etc and filled in under Medical Insurance Premiums
What's great about it: Linked with Quicken
What's not so great: Need more cateries for Schedule A deduction in Quicken which will marry up with Turbo Tax. An example is medical insuran

Our fifth year using it. Time consuming but helpful. Be nice not to have to answer all the same questions when the answers are the same. Donations for instance.
What's great about it: eliminated all the work sheets
What's not so great: some problems installing disk

It was somewhat lacking with Schedule C instructions, but it was the BASIC version.

TT Basic does the job
on April 7, 2016

I tried TT Basic this year (used to use Premier or Home & Business) and it did everything I needed: a simple Sch. C, imports of data for Sch. D, and reporting of results from my old real estate tax shelter partnership. No free state download, but Maryland is easy to do myself. I could have used more help in handling my old real estate partnership tax shelter investment, but Basic was just as good as TT Premier or TT Home & Business was in past years. Minor duplication of Medicare premiums deducted from Social Security, but easy to correct.
What's great about it: TT Basic did everything I needed.
What's not so great: A few minor glitches
