If you just want to get the taxes done and pay your fair share, this is the way to go. Not too much reading, definitely not a lot of computation, and quick results.
What's great about it: Pretty straight forward, I like that I can choose the areas of focus
What's not so great: Some of the explanations could be expanded for non-tax professionals

You can't go wrong with TurboTax

I've been using TurboTax since 1983, when it first came out. I've never looked back nor regretted my choice. I've convinced all of my 5 children to use it too, and they wouldn't think of switching to a different program. What a great product for such a tedious annual chore!
What's great about it: Walk through forms, accuracy, and up to date with IRS rules.

It is not unusual for the general sales tax rate to be different in a local area. In my case, the local rate at retailers is 9.1%. I also had a major purchase when I bought a Park Model and had an attached structure built. The PM sales tax rate was 5.85% because the state gave manufactures a tax break. The building contractor had a 6.2% rate applied to only 65% of the contract price to distinguish between labor and material costs. But TT balks when a major rate does not match the general sales rate. Since all three rates are correct, a user must either not enter the major purchases, or lower the general rate to match the major. Either way, the customer loses the actual sales tax spent. The alternative is to have a receipt with the sales tax for every item purchased.

Easy...

Used Turbotax for years. Has been great. Love how easy it is to update files from previous years. This year, we only had std deduction now that daughter is on her own. We could have prevented having to buy the software and used the free version. Not happy about that. But, will know in the future unless our situation changes.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Price if you learn that you don't have to itemize
