Good Job Turbo Tax

Friends and family are amazed that I do my own taxes. Couldn't do them without the helpful guidelines and auto additions and subtractions of the program. I love Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: The program has loads of information and makes doing my taxes easy.
What's not so great: I had to stretch the bar and grab the side line to get the page to go down. Annoying!

Turbo Tax 2015

For some reason that I could not pin point Turbo Tax seemed a little more confusing this year than in past years, perhaps due to government changes to the forms, or perhaps the old designers have retired and the new kids haven’t gained common sense yet.
I will not be using Turbo Tax next year because they will not support XP because MS don’t upgrade shows their thinking is flawed, if there are no changes coming from MS then you have a stable platform to work with. Silly to drop XP especially since it has been stable for the last few years. This means I will must go to the competition software next year, or I will file manually as I did for many years before Turbo Tax existed, the deal is, Turbo tax will be loosing some customers.

I'm very satisfied with TurboTax. Since a friend recommended it many years ago, this is the only thing I use. Great tool for the everyday individual...
What's great about it: It guides you thru every little thing...

Purchased Turbo tax to complete a simple return. The total cost of the program, plus purchase of the state and the fee to electronically file were higher than going to a professional

Found your product this year confusing. Many times it would ask a question or want me to do something. When I did it would not respond appropriately. The bigger problem is being hit up for money at every turn. In the past i have used deluxe but chose to use the basic version due to the simplicity of my return. The explanation of the different products was not clear that the additional costs would seemingly just keep coming. Future use of turbotax is in real question as well as sharing my experiences with others.
What's great about it: used in past years
What's not so great: confused, more money at every turn

I have been a loyal customer but was upset with 2 things that REALLY tripled my time in working on taxes:
1. I did my taxes on an online site and then tried to work on my sons taxes but it kept automatically going back to my taxes and wouldn't let me make a choice of "starting a new tax return for another person"
2. I ended up buying another turbo tax program and had a terrible time getting it to load - even with the directions on how to make it load...
I will not get the online program next year!

Easy Tax Prep

Turbo Tax is very easy to use. Just assemble your inputs (W-2, 1099, etc.) and answer the easy interview questions.
The one downside is that most of the calculations are done in the background so except for the running tally at the top of the screen, you do really see how TurboTax is using your input unless you go to the Forms view and retrace your steps.
What's great about it: Ease of use

Last year was the worst for filing my return.

Last year was worst time ever had with TurboTax. This year was no better. I forgot to follow up close enough on your guide and I missed recording any tax on Social Security received. I also have been doing my son's return but unable to save last years return and unable to file one for 2015. I doubt that I will use your company in future.
What's great about it: It did figure tax.
What's not so great: unable to save final return on computer only pdf
