Good TV while it lasted

Expected the TV to last more than a few years. Like many others, my HDMI ports stopped working - just get no signal detected on the screen, plugged my HDMI into another TV and it worked. The TV otherwise seems OK - screen is fine and if I'm using the smart TV features it works. I guess I'll have to resort to baking the main board in the oven so the solder joints will get reflowed (like many others have done, which is quite ridiculous when you think about it). Without HDMI unfortunately this TV is useless to me because I can't hook up any of my other devices.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My video became snow! On all video not just HDMI but also component and RCA, even video over the web via the browser! Static images show on screen fine like a web page or units menus but whenever a video starts that portion of the screen turns to snow. Main board problem and expensive to repair. Heck, at least I got almost 5 years out of it which is a long time compared to others with same problem. But, an expensive purchase like this should be lasting at least 8 years and more like 10+. Last LG tv for me!
