Nice Features, but...

This blue-ray player has nice features but the performance is poor. One issue, it takes too long to load the blue-ray or dvd discs, and the main issue is the freezing when it is online. I now have to power cycle it everyday and is getting extremely annoying.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color

The BD-D5700 is a great blu-ray player, the problem with it lies in the software for streaming network based media. It simply doesn't have the power to perform. Netflix movie constantly buffers while an apple tv streams flawlessly. MLB,TV, which is the main reason I purchased this unit, always buffers every 5-10 seconds while playing flawlessly over mobile devices. Overall it is good for Blu-Rays, but not much else.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor network streaming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Slow Start up

I wish there was a fix for loading time sometimes it just hangs and does nothing.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: too slow loading time

Smart Hub Not So Smart

Bought the Blu Ray last Saturday and connected it with no problem. Tried testing the Smart Hub but the server was down. Without the server, Smart Hub (streaming stuff from the net) will not work. It has been over 5 days since the servers have been down. Googled this issue online and found other users with the same problem dated back to 2011. Knowing this is a familiar issue, I will be returning the Blu Ray.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stopped Playing Blu Ray after 1 year

Bought this end of December 2011, 1 year and 1 week later will not read, load or play Blu Ray discs, Time for a new BD player.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive

Poor performance BD D5700

The unit was broken after 7 months of barely use. The wifi connection is bad if you want to stream Neflix, but if you connect by wire the stream is very good. Im waiting for my unit from Samsung and I will inform if it is working right.
Also, my other unit Samsung 3D HT E5500 is broken in less than a year. I love Samsung products, but I do not know what is going on with the Bluray players.

Great! - If it Worked....

When I first purchased this player a couple of years ago, Netflix would not work. My Wii connected to the same network in my house worked just fine, but Samsung had somehow managed to screw it up. After several firmware revisions, they finally got Netflix working, but now when watching Blu-Rays the audio drops out every 10 seconds or so, and the video freezes briefly. I bought cheap and got what I payed for.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, does not play blu-rays
