Not quite up to expectations

Has a significant delay between pushing buttons on remote and performing the function. Movie playing and blueray performance are very good. Getting the aps to work is a challenge. We have had significant problems with the wireless operations. Continual rebuffering problems. No other item has problems with the wireless conection. We have phones, ipad, and laptop none of which have any problems with the conection. Very frustrating!!
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Netflix feature is very glitchy and now after only 3 month(this is our second player) the Netflix feature will not play title even after we upgraded our internet speed.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great - when it plays

Really good value, and superb experience when it works and plays correctly, but I've had numerous issues with some newer Blu-ray releases. Game of Thrones season 1, for example, wouldn't play a new disc unless I reset EVERY SINGLE TIME I put a new disc in. I am current with firmware updates. Same issue with Harry Potter series of new Blu-rays. Also suspect something is up with the way a video streaming service I subscribe to constantly freezes, rebuffers and just shuts off. I have fast and consistent Internet signal - none of my other devices have any issues when the unit complains about the signal and shuts down. This might not be the player, but based on some of the other Smart Hub apps and sites being just as intermittent, I believe that it is. Overall, a great value and like I said- when it works it's amazing. I just wish it worked more consistently.
this was my first blu-ray player. I am completely satisfied. tried other leading brand before this one, returned it purchased this one. you know the rest.
Would have given it 5 stars if it had Amazon Instant Video

Have had this unit for a while now and have not had any issues with it. Plays movies well. The SmartHub is neat - haven't really used too many of the apps other than a couple of music ones, but maybe that's just me. The only complaint I have - and it is minor, I know - but it has to do with the remote. There is no button that shows how much time is left on a movie. This may seem unimportant, but it's a feature I've seen on other units I've purchased. It's probably just personal preference and doesn't take anything away from my satisfaction of a fine product.

This is the first blu-ray player I have owned. I love the clean design, it's easy to set up and use. However, there are not many free apps, and many are a waste of time. I have Netflix on mine, but almost everytime I have used it, the streaming is awful. Also it stopped playing both blu-ray and DVDs after 6 months of light use. For the price, it's not bad, but wouldn't recommend. Although I'm getting my fixed, I am already shopping for a new one.
