Good and Bad

Bought it for the added Smart features and the value, compared to the cost of my BD-P3600A from 2 years ago. I like the added features with internet access and streaming from video files on my PC. But the feature I still use the most is streaming from Netflix and for this app the BD-P3600A is superior. I rarely have any drops or reloads using the older player but sometimes this one drops and reloads almost as soon as it starts streaming again.
Pros: Inexpensive, lots of features/apps
Cons: Did not meet expectations, netflix streaming difficult at times
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good blu-ray- bad wireless streaming
on June 11, 2012

The blu-ray portion of this player is great; it works well and has all the standard features one expects.
However, the wireless internet access for Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming media is lousy. It is incredibly slow, the user interface is clumsy and it seems to always need updating. Shouldn't it update its software, firmware or whatever when I'm not using it?
Also, the remote control's page navigation controls are not particularly user-friendly. The BD-D5700 wireless streaming capability simply does not compare with the leading streaming-only devices.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor wireless streaming performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice DVD Player
on June 13, 2012

DVD player is nice and functional. Works well with my Samsung LED TV. Have not used the built in wireless so cannot comment on this. One complaint is the response time for the remote control. Seems like a long delay. Also, it takes a while for DVD player to boot up when turned on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a bad player...
on June 14, 2012

My first blu-ray player, it's a little slow but it does virtually everything we want it to do, though my main gripe when it comes to features - and this is more Samsung the company and less this specific product - it's really annoying that I can't get something like Youtube HD on this device but a newer device or TV can. It's like buying a computer but never being able to get new software for it, there's no need for those kind of limits in this day and age.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: poor app selection
I would recommend this to a friend!

Dissapointment

I've always had problems with this player ever since I bought it. I thought it would be a good replacement for the X-Box to watch Netflix and finally be able to watch some blu-rays on the HDTV; I was sorely mistaken. Currently, the player is playing only sounds from the disks I put in and won't display on my Samsung TV. I have constant connection problems with my wireless internet with it as it is always re-buffering and disconnecting me from Netflix. The remote is very unresponsive as well. Overall, I'm quite disappointed with this product, as the Samsung TV I bought. It really brings into question if I ever buy another Samsung device again.
Pros: Lightweight, wireless
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WiFi connection is great in my home; colors are good, and the AnyNet+ feature makes starting a movie an easy task for the kids.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
