usually I let my adult children set up equipment for me, I set this up myself, was not too hard. i was able to use it immediately, and I still am learning more how to use the features provided.
Pros: Inexpensive

Just got married to my American boyfriend (I'm from England) and everything he had within his home was mismatched. I had Samsung products back home and they are just the best. So I am now converting my husband. Next purchase will be the new Samsung 3D TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, very quiet

the added features and the apps avail on this blu-ray player make this almost a good as any smart phone out there all from the comfort of your living room. Netflix and Pandora, just to name a few.. make this one of the best entertainment values out there and set up is simple.

HDMI Port malfunctions / WIFI a joke

I love samsung, but I've had two bad experiences with their BLU Ray Players and Home Theater systems. This BD-D5700 has a malfunctioning HDMI port and WIFI that never works. I can't recommend it, and would buy another brand next time.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Blu-ray player

I really like this Blu-ray player. My only complaints is that it takes a bit of time when connecting thru the internet to open up the Smart Hub and accessing the apps. Other than that the player works great and provides an excellent picture.
