takes forever

The player takes forever to update and it is always getting stuck in 'updating' mode. I have to turn it on and off all the time to get it to reset. It is so slow that the features are more of a hassle to use than they are worth. Would not recommend.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, slow

problems w/WIFY

Every time I turn it on to watch something over the internet (wireless) it takes several minutes to open the options screen and tonight it quit altogether. I unplugged it to try to reset it, it did not work. I am a night owl and could not watch my favorite program. The WIFY connection is strong however the player is not working. very disappointed as this is the second time it has happened and now I cannot resolve the issue.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this because my existing Blu-ray player would not play movies from a flash drive or card. This player does that and more!
Connecting to my wireless home network was quick and easy. To my surprise, the player also syncs with my computer to access music, photo, and video/movie files without wires!
Streaming HD movies from my computer is flawless.
There are so many (maybe too many) Aps, files, sub files, and music/video sites to sort through that I have had this
player for almost a month and still have not figured it all out!
There are a few negative aspects that I've discovered.
1) The remote must be pointed directly at the device and reaction time is sometimes a bit slow.
2) The front panel is touch sensitive and extremely easy to power on/off. Just a heads up while dusting or if your dog finds the disc tray fascinating.
3) You can not use the Ethernet connection and network to your computer at the same time. I have not noticed any difference in quality with streaming movies from the web with out it (Ethernet).
All said, this player has more than I could imagine. Great looks, quality, and LOADED with features!

SLOW!!

Three major issues with this device:
1) It's slower than any other DVD player that I own.
2) Streaming internet movies is also painfully slow with serious lags.
3) Accessing the Smart Hub and Samsung App section is annoyingly slow with 2-4 second delays in navigation.

this product has poor streaming for netflix

this unit work great on blueray but falls real short on streaming netflix i had to but another unit just yesterday because i love the samsung product i bought and BD-D5300 have not have it 24 HR yet but it seem to be the answers i feel i wasted my money on the 5700 product its about a month old and i can't take it back or i would so i put i back in the box and waiting to see what Samsung say when i call them

Remote stinks

Picture quality is fine.
The remote control is difficult to understand. Buttons are not placed logically. The print in the quick set-up and the manual is too small and not dark enough. Plus it’s written by someone whose first language is not English.
I found it very frustrating and irritating. This is going to tick me off for the whole time I own this product. Buy something else.

From day 1, difficult to connect and play movies on internet and when connected, immediately drops or drops less than 5 minutes later or freezes; purchased 1 Oct 2011. About four weeks later, the player begins making a loud noise when a DVD or Blu Ray is loaded to play. Tonight, I tried connecting to Netflix and the player went blank. Turn system off, then on again...nothing I believe issues rest with just this one player.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, difficult to connect to internet, loud noise when playing dvd or blu ray, system freezes and can't see functions

Apps do not work

The players works great but the apps are poorly done. Netflix does not work and neither does facebook. I have trouble login on to the other apps and it takes several tries to get logged on to anything. It is very disapointing.
