What a loser

I have two Samsung Bluray players, a BDC5500 and this BDD5700. The 5500 is rock solid. The 5700 is continually re buffering on Netflix. It has been back for repair and they say they replaced the main board. It did not fix the problem. Well they tried to blow off the problem by checking some other function. The fact is that one player works perfectly and under the same conditions the 5700 does not. I love the new menu on the 5700. I like the remote. There must be something about the design that needs improving. So mine must be a dog since 85% recommend this machine

I bought htis unit with hopes of watching Blueray disc. I watched one Blueray and it worked great. Watched a few DVD's since this is my first Blueray unit I didn't have many blueray disc. Bought my 2nd blueray disc and when I turned on the unit it told me an update was available so I told it to update. Big mistake! I then put in my new BR disc and nothing happened, the system locked up. I took out this disc and put back in the one that we watched earlier in the week and it no longer would work.
Now I have a Blueray player that won't play Blueray disc!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome Blu-ray Player

Purchased about two months ago and love this machine. I have had no problems with this player and love the apps that are available. Turned my HDTV into a SmartTV.
Pros: Inexpensive, easy setup
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this blu-ray after I purchased an LCD 46"w TV. Connecting to the TV was very easy and use of operation is just as easy. I like the fact that it has wi-fi, as this will be great for future updates. I do not stream any movies so I can not comment on that. As a blu-ray player, the picture quality is exceptional. Glad i stayed with a samsung product.

Features - Lots of features that do not work. The main reason for purchasing was the ability to stream video and play Blu-Ray discs. It played Blu-Ray discs at least.
Performance - Slow to start up with a Blu-Ray in the unit. Stuttered streaming out of the box. Slow to move between menus and selections.
Design - It looks pretty, other than that...
Value - IF it worked as most other electronic products I own it would be great on value, as it is, it scores low in this category as well.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Overall a very good buy. I must say it is the best blu-ray player i have ever owned. Definately recomend this model to everyone who likes blu-ray movies.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Great product for price

Purchased this to replace a player of another manufacturer that failed to work from the box. Has an impressive list of features, especially for the price. Very easy to set up and run with. Took about 5 minutes. There was a time when I would not consider Samsung products due to poor quality. Over the past few years, they have become, in my opinion, an industry leader.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, easy to use

I would not buy this product again nor recommend it to anyone. The SmartHub and internet connectability consistently gives me problems. Updates have issues, the internet connection though it worked yesterday, it all of a sudden does not work, Netflix application has problems often. This has nothing to do with my internet access - my other devices (Wii, laptop) are not having connectability issues.
