Heat control

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this 2 months and am still trying to figure out the best setting for heating, eg: med high, low, etc. It also will turn off the power or turn on the timer when a pan is set on it. Still figuring it out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Did you know? The size and type of cookware used will influence the heat setting needed for the best cooking results.
Your ceramic glass cooktop has heating elements below a smooth glass surface. The designs on the ceramic cooktop outline the areas of the surface elements underneath. Always match the pan size with the diameter of the element outline on the cooktop. We recommend using only flat-bottomed cookware.
Using the proper cookware in the cooking area should improve efficiency. Please review page 8 of your model’s “Use & Care” for more information on which pots and pans work well with your range’s smooth cooktop.
Lastly, I would like to learn more about the issue you’re having when placing a pan on your cooktop. Please be on the lookout for an email from me.

Lots of space, hard to keep clean, 12yrs lifespan

We had this big cooktop for 12 years and was intensively used for a family of 5. It's nice and modern/sleek. It's a bit labour intensive to keep it really clean. Wait too long and it's impossible to remove the spilled foods. Easy to use, great features. Lasted 12 years, repair was 40% of new price, decided to buy a new one, same brand. Repairman said avg lifespan is about 10+ yrs.

Don't Buy

I bought this years ago but don't but it because all you do is get the code E-11 off so you can cook your meal sometimes you just have to walk by it and the code comes up and all you hear is that code. We're older and when we make a purchase we try to get a better brand so we don't have to worry about it again for years but don't buy this cooktop. I had an Amana for years and never gave us any problems.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
