It doesn’t chop onion unless it’s in smaller pieces and then gets stuck. I didn’t use the base to hold any food in. I had a different brand chopper years ago and was hoping this one would work as well if not better but didn’t unfortunately.

The glue that attaches the plunger to the body of the device failed which caused the guard to become unsecured and get cut by the blade. Only used it twice.
