I purchased this to mainly chop nuts for one of my recipes. It works ok but not super fast or efficient since many of the nuts are chopped to powder while others haven't been chopped at all.

I bought this item because of Cuisinart’s good reputation. Apparently Cuisinart has gone down hill. The very second time I used the chopper it broke. This thing is cheaply made. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

We like that this chopper's body and blades are made of stainless steel. It chops well with the blades. We gave this an average review because of two problems. The metal cover for the blades keeps falling out whenever we unscrew the top from the base. The base cup has a removable bottom, which is great if you are copping on a cutting board where you don't need the bottom. However, the bottom sometimes comes off after we remove the top, which spills the contents in the base. Both the metal chopping guide and the bottom on the base should be tighter.

I received the Cuisinart chopper as a gift from my daughter, to replace a chopper that I'd had for years that was wearing out. This one chops food excellently, and is very comfortable to use. Most of the lower chopper parts come apart for ease of cleaning. The blades are retracted up into the casement, and come down when the black handle is pushed. When washing the chopper, I push the black handle down to reveal the blades for cleaning. The one drawback is that water gets up into the casement when washing, so you have to shake it to get out as much water as possible, then let it air/drip dry to completely dry out the inside of the casement. Overall I really like this chopper!
