Not my favorite!

My husband bought the washer dryer pair a few years ago. The dryer is fine, but I can't stand the washer. Mainly for the same reason others have shared about the inconvenience of cleaning the gasket every time. Which I don't do, so therefore have constant mildew. Luckily my husband is handy and has replaced the gasket once already because it got ripped when a screw left in a pocket ripped the first one. That was not fun. He has also had to clean out the internal filter three times. When it gets clogged bad enough (hair, hair ties, etc.), the washer won't drain. Getting to this filter is beyond most handy-man capabilities and getting it back in is frustrating because of the many clamps and connections and the location in the machine. Today after he finally got the filter back on, it turns out the motor was kaput...possibly burned out when the machine wasn't draining. So, I picked up a new motor at the local parts store and that seemed to go in much easier than the filter. Drats. I was really hoping the machine would have died for good so I could go back to my favorite old top loader.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had problems 51 days after purchase door latch wouldn't release and repair person noted bad bearing on drum.Appears to be very poor workmanship .

Worthless

Bought this 4.8 years ago and after 2 months the door lock had to be replaced. 4 months later it would not spin and front panel was replaced. 6 months after that would not spin and another front panel was replaced. This goes on every 6 months if you are lucky. Another 6 months and all three control panels were replaced that time. Now Saturday the rince & spin again. I'm sick and tired of getting this washer fixed at least 10 times now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Torn between good and bad.

I bought this a few months ago and it washes fine but water builds up in the fabric softener and bleach dispenser. I have to take the tray out before every new wash.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the Gallery Series of this washer (and dryer) over 9 years ago. Should have read the user's manual so that I would NOT have made this very expensive purchase.
Because the launderer is too stupid to really know how they want to wash a particular load, water temperature options are restricted by cycle selection and cannot be overridden.
Beware the mold that develops in the detergent tray, especially along the sides.
The door on my washer has NEVER closed flush with the machine. It does not leak, but it is not flush.
Within the first year, I made 5 calls for service because the spinning and/or draining part of the cycles was not functioning. Various parts replacements never actually 'cured' the problem and it was obvious that this was just something to be done because it looked good.
Having to wipe out the gasket after every load is also annoying. After all this time, why hasn't this aspect of front-loaders been addressed?
If you don't have a full load, there will be a problem (off-balance spinning). News flash, Frigidaire! Everything cannot be shoved in together to make a full load and some things (though very few) still need to be bleached.
I look forward to the day when I can justify purchasing replacements for the washer & dryer ... or hit the lottery so I don't have to wait.

It is incredibly loud particularly when spinning. When you make a selection that doesn't match an alarm goes off that the first time I heard it made me think it was going to blow up. Would not purchase again.

I purchased this just after I purchased my home and have been so very HAPPY with it. It's quiet and does a great job. Frigidare is a great brand.
