wide swing in temperature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this model less than a month back for my garage, I noticed it was not cooling enough, bought appliance temperature meter, even at maximum settings freezer does not go lower than 9 and refrigerator not lower than 45 degrees. I am very disappointed and do not know what to do with it. I also noticed in Review section, another buyer (LKWP) has similar complaint. Any recourse for me?

When you move your temperature dial to a colder setting do you hear the compressor running? Do you feel air movement through the grille at the rear of your freezer? Noisy, the main shelf doesn't fit the best and collapsed twice, temperature control need alot improvement, ice forms on top of inside of freezer as if outside air is getting in, tech came out and said that's the way they make them. Very disappointed.

Perfect for garage frig

Replaced an 20 year old frig and this one is energy star rated. Have to be careful of holders in freezer door as they can come off easily. Good frig for my purpose.

Very good refrigerator1

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator about a month ago and so far so good. I love the amount of space in both compartments. My only complaint is that you can't move the shelves on the door around and that I can't put tall bottles on the door without them falling over. Other than that, it's a great refrigerator!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Despite repair man coming out - we still cannot regulate temperature in fridge - either 40 or set to coldest setting fridge never quits running and it is extremely loud when it runs.

I wonder if your refrigerator may be located in an area where the ambient temperature gets below 55° F. If so the controls would need to be set to the coldest setting to improve performance. Sustained exposure to ambient temperatures below 39° F will likely result in freezing of food and beverages stored in the refrigerator section. Most new refrigerators are designed to save energy. These refrigerators are equipped with low energy consumption fans and compressors. The modern, high-efficiency compressors operate much faster than older models. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. Page 19 of your Owner’s Manual addresses the normal sights and sounds your refrigerator may demonstrate. Lots of Room!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator a couple of weeks ago and find it does not seem to be cold enough in the refrigerator part, I put temperature up to the coldest in the freezer and things froze. I put it down a little and the refrigerator does not seem cold. I don't know what to do with this. I am not happy with it.

Zeussmom3, thank you for taking the time to submit your refrigerator review. Seeing as the freezer seems to be responding correctly, but not the refrigerated section, I have a few thing for you to check. Please make sure the door is closing correctly, and is level. Do a visual inspection of the door gasket, making sure it is fully seated in the retaining channel. Look for open areas between the gasket and the body of the cabinet. If your gasket is pulling out of the channel:
1) Clean the gasket with a wet soapy cloth, then rinse and dry.
2) Feed the gasket back into the retaining channel, ensuring the gasket is secure all around the door.
If the gasket is fully seated in the retaining channel, but still doesn’t not seal completely, use a hair dryer to carefully heat the gasket while the door is closed. Be careful not to damage the interior door panel or gasket by applying too much heat!
If gasket seal is still open after you have done these steps, flip the gasket 180 degrees:
1) Completely remove the gasket from the retaining channel around the door edge.
2) Rotate the gasket half a turn (180 degrees).
3) Reinstall the gasket by inserting the corners first into the retaining channel (kind of like a popular plastic storage bag that zips to lock).
4) Work the gasket towards the middle, ensuring that it is fully seated in the retaining channel.
