OK....But......

Occasionally it emits a loud buzzing noise when started. I have to shut it off and start it again to get the noise to stop. It also released water onto the floor, but the repairman couldn't find an evident cause. We are crossing our fingers that it won't continue messing up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the new features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 17 year old Frigidaire washer with the new model which is under our new gas dryer. Both fit perfectly under a cabinet above. Most new dryers and washers are much taller, so we were fortunate not to have to remove the existing cabinet. I love the new features, the larger door, the time shown to complete the cycle, and the ability to make personal selections for each load. It's made doing our laundry much easier.

Unreliable durability and manufacturing?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased a washer / dryer set 3 yrs ago. This washer model burned out for some reason... during a wash, a louder than normal rumble developed during spin which manifested in smoke coming out of the washer when I opened the door while finding a lot of chewed up rubber door seal gasket in amongst the clothes. I feared I abused the washer (but it wasn't an abnormal load), so we immediately replaced with a new washer of the same model (FFFW5000QW) to match aesthetics and minimize hookup issues (dimensions and electrical). The new one arrived with dysfunctional electronics (diagnosed the day following delivery)... certain washer cycle options (speed, temp, etc.) were not selectable as described in the manual and as our prior washer had worked. This leads me to question the durability of the model and manufacturing quality control in general. We are presently awaiting warranty service of the electronics as the vendor refused to replace anew.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a top loader washer for four months and it was so LOUD it was actually depressing. We have an open laundry room off the kitchen so the noise went throughout the house. This machine is quiet and does a great job with getting clothes clean.
