[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After many hours of researching and reviewing different brands of Microwaves I finally decided on this one, it had everything I required in its specification and the overall look would be the finishing touch to my newly remodeled kitchen. When the appliance arrived I eagerly unpacked the unit only to find the glass turntable was missing. I got in touch with Whirlpool expecting some customer service however I was faced with a number of questions which I answered to the best of my abilities, I was eventually contacted again a few days later asking me to fax through receipts and other information. I do not have a fax machine and it would mean a 110 mile round trip to the nearest town to use one, being as this journey was to take place I packed the thing up and returned it to the store and exchanged it for a different model. Possibly the Microwave would have been good the lack of customer service was sadly lacking..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice functionality but a few gripes

It's been 15+ years since purchasing a microwave so perhaps features have changed. Bottom line, this is a microwave oven and after using it for 3 days, it heats our food as it should. The only issues I have are with the fan and under oven light. I don't like that the exhaust fan engages instantly and automatically every time we cook an item regardless of the power setting. The fan isn't overly loud, but it's noticeable and annoying and I wish it could be turned off during cooking cycles. My other gripe is about the placement of the under oven light. It's placed on the back half of the microwave (closest to the wall) and doesn't do a good job of lighting the front area of our our range top (we typically use our front burners).Reading ahead to the next question, I guess I'd recommend this oven to a friend but I'd definitely make them aware of the auto fan feature and the placement of the under oven light.

Disappointed

Had this unit installed today. Have not had time to really test the unit. The complaint I have so far is the display light. It is so dim it can't be seen from over two feet away. I phoned customer service no help. I went on live chat and was told the light is not adjustable. Not a very good design.

Great Microwave

I bought this oven to replace one that was 17 years old. I am very pleased with how easy it was to learn to use. I had to adjust my cooking times as this is more powerful than my old one but so far I have been able to easily adjust. I love steaming fresh vegetables in my microwave as I always get them cooked perfectly - not overdone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The only problem is that it is placed over the stove top and the handle gets really burning hot if the stove top under it is being used. Hb=ave to find a solution to that otherwise hand is burnt seriously.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this microwave but when it is done cooking, the damper door makes noise. Called Whirlpool and they sent someone the very next day. Good costumer service! He said that's what it is supposed to do. My son has the same one and his does not make the thump, thump noise.

New home new Whirlpool appliances!!

This microwave was part of the appliance pkg the builder gave us. Have never had stainless before. Hard to keep clean and spot free. It works great thus far and has cooked everything I have tried with no issues. The stainless cleaning is the only reason I did not rate this a 5.
