Awesome...but

Connected this amp to my 5.1 speakers and Sony 4K TV with no problems. Automatic leveling of speaker outputs was awesome because I never heard sound like that coming from my speakers (hi end Polk).
But, when I attempted to connect to my iphone bluetooth, the system became non-responsive. Had to press and hold the power button for five seconds to reset everything and start over. Works great now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good sound, does the job well, but the documentation SUCKS. No documentation at all on the remote, and troubleshooting set up requires have a computer sitting next to you because you can't get a complete manual, even one to download as a pdf.
The AV unit itself is great, but I don't know how to do half of what it will do because there isn't anything to tell me exactly what the controls and menus are for.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the unit but having lots of issues

The unit itself is great and has many features but I'm continuing to have problems with the USB connection, internet music, and Bluetooth. It's been returned for service once already with parts replaced and now it's not functioning again. Last time it was sent away for service we were without the unit for over 3 weeks. Now we'll be without it again for several weeks. Very frustrating that something so new has so many problems.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very happy with this product

I'm not big audiophile, but do like to have a decent home theater setup. I have a 5.1 setup with PSB speakers. I was using a 15 year old Sony 555ES. I'm actually surprised at the difference in sound with this new receiver. Particularly the low end.
It was easy to set up, and easy to use. I like having the blue tooth capability which I use with my iPhone. (I play Grateful Dead music via the Archivist app.) If you're a dead head, it is essential. It's nice to have a USB port as well, which I have a Chromecast plugged in to.
Any way, I have no complaints, and only praise for this product. A fair price for a good quality receiver.

Performed beyond expectations

Bought this after my old Sony AV unit developed a serious channel problem. Researched for weeks before deciding to purchase this one. The 850 DN unit meets my power needs in my sitting room and promised plenty of new functionality. I appreciated the simplicity of the setup and installation except one and only point, the unlocking of my internet music streaming accounts. Beyond that the acoustic auto setup worked well. The Bluetooth, USB and media steaming functionality surpassed my tech savvy kid's expectations. We frequently play videos, picture slide shows and music that way. I use a hard wired LAN connection but did try wireless without any issues. After six months of use, I am still very pleased with the unit and have no observations to the contrary to report.

Great sound and features

Love the features like wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity that are usually found in higher priced systems. If you could also stream video from second screen devices, it would be perfect. Also like the sound optimization features. Full rich sound and I've hardly pushed its limits.

This product failed in less than one week of operation. Fortunately the retailer had a 60 day money back policy that I could take advantage of.
The HDMI output failed. This appears to be a common complaint. It's an accurate complaint..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
