Nice Sound Bar!

It looks nice and generally works well. I like the bluetooth feature, although I don't use it much. I like the feature that you can set it up to turn on and off automatically with the TV, although I seem to have trouble getting this to stay activated.
My biggest complaint and disappointment is the limited volume. It is "almost enough" volume at full setting, but I expected it to be "more than enough", so I would NEVER use full volume. That isn't true and I am really not satisfied for that reason.
If I had it to do again, I would shop for something with more volume.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So glad i finally purchased a soundbar, so worth it. The Sony is perfect for our condo, plenty of power and bass to really fill the room and great sound at low levels. Simple and convenient with all the basic features one needs.

Outstanding soundbar. Fits my cozy room quite well. Booming sound for such a slim design of the bar and sub. Nice good Sony quality like all their products are. Looking forward to upgrading to a higher model in the future.

Love My Sony Soundbar

I love my HT-CT370 Soundbar! The woofer gives full deep sound. I feel like I'm in a theatre watching a movie. In the store I compared it to the Bose for 4 times the price. Yes, the sound on the Bose was louder and deeper, but I would never listen to music or a movie at that high volume level in my house. When I'm watching TV and movies, I still want to converse with the people I am with, so this Sony soundbar is perfect!! All the rich sound and volume I could ever want, and still enjoy my family and friends. I also love the companion SongPal phone/iPod app and the Bluetooth capability, I can listen to all my favorite music at full volume and hear it throughout the house, when I'm alone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love Sony XBR TVs except they don't stream a 5.1 signal through the TOSLINK when the internal speaker are on. For casual television viewing I like to use the internal speakers. When I'm viewing a 5.1 Amazon or Netflix video, I like to use my THX AVR. Problem: I would have to manually switch to "audio system" to get the 5.1 bit stream. If I forget to switch back, the next casual user will not be able to get sound.
The HT-C370 solves the problem because the TV needs to be on "audio system" mode for the HT-C370 to work. Effectively, the HT-C370 is now my "TV Speakers" for casual viewing and the TOSLINK is now streaming the 5.1 signal. I simply mute the sound bar or lower its volume when the AVR is on line.
The Casual viewing experience is now enhanced with the wireless subwoofer which the internal speakers didn't provide. Also, you gain two extra HDMI ports on the sound bar that routes to the TV.
The only thing that kept from getting five stars is the status light won't turn off when it's on mute. It keeps flashing "Muting" and is distracting. The work around is simply to turn the sound bar down to minimum.

I read a ton of reviews and ultimately decided to go with this sound bar and I am not disappointed at all. It does exactly what it is designed to do. It's not a home theatre system, it's a sound bar and a good one for the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Heavy duty bass

- Outstanding Sony quality and sharp looks
- Easy set up
- Plenty of subwoofer power
- Useful sound modes
Con:
- Narrowish bar = little L / R channel separation
- Cannot control volume from the cable company's remote, even though their remote will control the volume on a Sony TV; it means forever juggling a second remote just to change volume level.
