Very Awesome Full Featured Sound Bar

I needed a sound bar with a low profile to accommodate the clearance for the height of my TV. I was pleasantly surprised how slim and beautiful this sound bar was. After set up I was once again surprised by how complete the audio experience was. The wireless sub woofer is a slim design and fit perfectly between my couch and wall. My wife normally hates my tech purchases but as soon as she learned that she could play music through the sound bar by simply tapping her phone to the bar, she was hooked. I am very happy and highly recommend.

Great Quality Good Price

After doing a little research and some comparison of reviews from competing products I purchased this soundbar. Sony did a great job with both the design and the quality of this unit. It has a low profile so it is lower than the bottom of most TVs that are on a stand. It can be mounted on a wall as well. The Wireless Sub syncs to the unit easily. Works great out of the box and is very easy to set up. Depending on your specific sound needs it may need a little adjustment but doing so is also very easy. The sound is excellent, I have it connected via Digital Optical cable. It is only 300w unit so don't expect super loud sounds but you get great sound and it definitely equalizes the audio of commercials for over the air broadcasts. The sounds is nice and clear whether you are watching a blu-ray or watching cable tv. I have no complaints and have been extremely happy with this product.

Great sound, features and so easy to set up

Got this as a gift for my new Ultra HD TV set up. My family wanted to get me a good sound bar but didn't want to spend a fortune. The Sony sound bar and wireless sub woofer unit fit so great with my TV they are almost invisible. They were so easy to set up and connect and were working in minutes. The sound and deep bass from the sub is phenomenal. Still have to set up the remote on my Harmony universal remote, but I'm sure that will be easy to do. Very Happy with my gift and the great price for a quality sound system!

Great Sound Bar for the Money

I did not want to get into running of wires for a full surround sound system so I decide to look at sound bars. I spent some time reviewing what was available, costs, etc, and then whet and had a number of systems demonstrated. I found the HTCT370 provided the best performance for the money that I could find. There were better systems out there but they were twice the price. I find that in order to get great base out of the sub woofer that you have to really increase the volume of the unit. I assume this is an efficiency matter. I found that most units in this price range have the same problem. So if you are looking for a great sound bar that will not break the bank this is the one.

This was a xmas present for my 80 yr old in laws and it worked out very well! They love it and the sound is fantastic compared to the TV speakers, plus the streaming aspects. My mother in law is excited to try that part. I did find one crucial element, which I tried hard to find before I bought it. I can control the sound bar with the DirecTV remote, which was really a strong requirement so I did not have to introduce another remote to their system. They have a HR34 Genie and I used the code 13759 (I think) and it controlled it perfectly. They are very happy with the sound quality and volume level. The sub woofer is subject to the source sound so it doesn't always play a big role in TV shows but definitely wakes up with an action movie or DVD or steaming movie and is great with the music. Very happy with the purchase and it was up and running in about 20 minutes!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Home Theater Sound Bar.

Disappointed. There is a 'high pitched ringing' feedback. When the sound is voice level there is a background 'feedback' which is very annoying.
I've tried all the different sound settings and it's the same on all of them. Perhaps a change to an HDMI cable vice the optical wire will help
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1 - Play a different source.
2 - Check the speaker wire to verify it is connected securely to the speaker.
3 - Check the speaker wire shielding to verify it has not been cut.
4 - Try a different audio cord and source, like taking the sound out from the Satellite box instead of the cable box.

We purchased a Sony KDL50W800B 3D TV for our upstairs family room, followed by a Sony BDPS5200 3D Blu-ray player. Although the sound thru the television's speakers was adequate for news and weather reports, the sound quality needed a boost for everything else. My wife did not want the clutter of a full surround system - I already have a surround system set up in the man cave - so we previewed this Sony HTCT370 Sound Bar at the same store where both previous purchases had been made. We liked what we heard at the retailer, even with all of the extraneous store noises common to a big box store. The long and the short of it: the performance of the unit was, to my surprise, excellent. The quality of sound coming from the small sound bar [35.5" W x 2" H x 4.50" D] was impressive with it's richness of tone while the wireless sub surpassed my expectations with thunderous, deep bass. My conclusion: if you want a sound system that can fill a fairly large room with great sound while leaving a small foot print and not costing a fortune, test drive one yourself. Well worth the cost of admission.
