This dishwasher only worked well for 3 years. I have never had a dishwasher go bad after such a short time. This was a model my home builder chose to put in this house. The cycle ran for almost 3 hours...way too long! I would not recommend.

Worked good at first but......

Had my home built 3.5 years ago with GE GDT535PGJ2BB dishwasher installed by builder. No issues until the last couple months. The unit started beeping for no apparent reason when it wasn't in a wash cycle. That was an intermittent issue. About 2 weeks later a new issue arised. The unit would not turn on. Verified power was good at the outlet. Initially, unplugging the dishwasher, waiting a couple minutes and plugging back in would get it working. Now that no longer works. The dishwasher is totally unresponsive. Seems like this model is unreliable. I wouldn't recommend this for the long haul....

Poor quality, power issue seem to affect too MANY

There seems to be a consistent theme arising, poor quality and a known issue. I've seen a few other reviews and comments online about power issues.
Had my dishwasher installed by builder less than 18 months ago. Worked fine until a few months ago. The unit beeps intermittently, and won't power on other times. I've verified there is power to unit, so the issue is in the dishwasher itself. No issues until the last couple months. The unit started beeping for no apparent reason when it wasn't in a wash cycle. Don't buy

This model was installed when the house was built 3 years ago. It worked okay when it worked at all but recently was beeping intermittently while not in use. A couple weeks ago we lost complete power to the unit and it will not power on. I verified that the circuit breaker is on and reset it but still no power. The plug is connected properly. I even tried to reset the lock feature thinking my 4-year old played with the buttons. I got nothing. It's pretty sad that these appliances don't last more than 3 years.

Less than 2.5 years old - just stopped working.

GDT535PSJ5SS dishwasher is less only about 2.5 years old and has stopped working. After reading other reviews - seems to be a very common problem with this model. No lights - no power - no response. After reading these comments I think GE knows these DW's are defective - there must be a recall.

Great Product, Beautiful Appearance!

We have had this dishwasher for three years and have been very happy with its quality, performance, and it looks beautiful in our new kitchen! Very quiet running and we have never had to run a load twice - that alone is the best feature!
I would recommend this to a friend!
