Not even four years and this dishwasher is already not working well. It would leave chunks of the detergent and the dishes would still be dirty. Our old GE dishwasher lasted 8 years til we sold the house and it was still working well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We can understand your frustration and apologize for your inconvenience. We would encourage you to check the temperature of the incoming water temperature as hot water is essential to good wash performance. Hot water is needed to dissolve and activate the detergent so that it can loosen and remove common food soils. The hot water heater should be set to deliver at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit water to the dishwasher. To check the water temperature, run the hot water at the kitchen sink and measure the temperature of the running water with a candy or meat thermometer. If needed, adjust the temperature of the water heater accordingly. If this does not prove to be the reason for the issue you're having, we would recommend service. Please call 1-800-432-2737 M-F 7am-10pm, Sat 8am-6pm, Sun 8am -6pm EST to schedule a service appointment. We do wish you all the best. Vikki@GEA

Bought a 2 year old house with this dishwasher. It’s only two years old and the control board is broken. I was working at the beginning but then it would not start just kept beeping. Really confusing. Don’t spend your money on this

Dishwasher stopped working

I have never used GE products, but this dishwasher came with the house, just like all my other GE appliances came with the house, since builders seem to install only GE.
The dishwasher kept on beeping every 15 minutes / 24/ 7, since the last 4-5 months & would just not stop.
Now the machine has altogether died. I loaded the machine to start a wash & it would not start
I would never buy GE products, if it were upto me.

Can’t give zero stars but I would. Started randomly beeping after we used it regularly. Then, out of nowhere, it shuts off and won’t come back on. Neighbor with the same dishwasher experienced the exact same thing occur less than two weeks ago. It is a cheap piece of junk and I don’t recommend it.

Two years old - unhappy owner

It started leaking about 6 months ago - I did the suggestions to fix it. After cleaning up weekly puddles, an extra metal foot falls out of the door. Afterwards no more leaks - for about 2 months. It’s leaking again.
The dish baskets are rusting - under the “protective” “waterproof” paint.

Beep...beep....beep

The constant beeping of the unit randomly turning the controls on about ever 15 minutes has gotten extremely frustrating. About every 2 weeks the unit does not turn on no matter how many buttons are pressed. The only fix...turn the breaker off to the unit, wait about 5 minutes and back on. Dishes can be washed, be warned...the beeping is still a feature that stays with this unit. Less then 2 years old and had been going on for almost 6 months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Builder (CHEAP) Grade Unit

Builder supplied our new home with all GE discontinued models. This dishwasher take 4 hours plus to run and like a slot machine sometimes it works but most of the time not! Will replace with another brand after this experience with GE appliances. This unit is less than four years old and is only run about once a week, In short CHEAPLY made for todays disposable world. GE used to stand for something, sadly the key word is Used to.

This dishwasher came in builder grade although we paid extra for stainless steel hoping ge will lost long time but died in two years and warranty is over as well going to replace w Boche
