Frustrating dishwasher

Who would have thought after years of never having to do it that you'd have to run your faucet with hot water before running dishwasher to get the dishes clean. Bought a new house and this dishwasher came with it. Ran two loads of dishes and both times had to run cycle twice. What a lot of extra energy for an energy efficient appliance. I have never had to run hot water before and I've owned many dishwashers. I have since mentioned my frustration to other people, to find that it's true. Why make something that requires an extra step? Frustrating to say the least. I'm going to check with other brands to see if that's their method, also. Other than that, dishes are great after cycle is complete.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleans beautifully, but a bit awkward to load. Silverware tray in front is a problem because it blocks the soap dispenser. We moved it to the right side which helped with soap dispenser issue and loading.

Looks nice but doesn't dry all the way. Can be noisy at times.

This came with the house & is smaller than I'd like. I like the silverware holders, but they pop off frequently when unloading. The soap has not distributed fully several times. The dishwasher takes too long to dry, and turns on lights/beeps too easily whenever closing the door after inserting a new dish. BOO!

Works good so far. Need to use the heated dry option, otherwise dishes are really wet. It seems to be on the smaller side, may not work very good for families.
