I bought this projector during Thanksgiving 2016 and I have setup the projector to project 155" of pure cinema. I have been very pleased with it. There is a bit of noise of something that keeps moving inside the projector (not fan) when navigating through e.g Netfix menu's but I don't hear it during a movie. I have set it up in ECO mode and its still bright.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wow! I LOVE my Epson Home Cinema 2040 projector. The picture is amazing! I researched extensively to find the perfect projector for my space and lighting, and the Epson was my choice. And it has worked perfectly. Not too bright and not too dim; the projection throw distance was exactly what I needed to fill my 120” screen. Thanks to Epson, I am no longer just watching TV and movies and video games...now I am EXPERIENCING them! Wonderful!

Got this for NFL opening day and it really brings the games to an entirely new level. Was a breeze to install and set up was very easy. I was amazed by the clarity of the picture (i am sourcing through verizon fios). I highly recommend to anyone who wants to bring their viewing experience up to theater quality.

This is my first projector and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed! I am a bit of a snob when it comes to picture quality and this one continues to blow my mind. It's great in the day time, or any other light! Obviously better to view in the dark, but the day time is absolutely fine as well. I have a screen but it's only 100" so I am now just projecting onto the wall at 130" and the image is incredible!! Super clear. It is comparable to a 1080P 240hz refresh rate television which is fun to watch. Watching movies in 3D is also pretty great. I highly recommend this unit!!
