Great Technical help from Michel!!!!

I bought this unit about a month ago and it was relatively easy to install the system and the internal viewing but the remote viewing was much harder to get working . I called Michel in technical service and he spent all the time I needed to make it so I was able to view from work. !!!!

Defender PRO 8ch System

I have researched these systems and found the Defender to have all the requirements I was looking for. I added one additional camera for full coverage and still spent less than less capable systems at Best Buy or online! With all the technology it is hard to find the right system, however Defender will hook right up to an old or new TV (I used to of my old TVs), monitor, IPad or Cell and show surveillance footage real time. This product works great "as advertised" and with the 8 channels, I plan to add additional cameras in the future. Sure you can get a much more elaborate system that will have full motion cameras and a clearer picture, however for the price and options this is currently the system to buy. I have not had the system long enough to write a full review, however the 1TB DVR is easy to set up (mine is hidden), the cameras are rugged and easy to install with two simple connections, and the set up was instantaneous. The one glitch was the instructions could have spelled out how to set up the network with the WIFI and internet a little better. I went to the self help on the Home website and the tutorial helped me get the router set up and I was almost there, however I needed a lifeline and had email the help desk and was called in two days time to get the issue resolved. Michel from Defender was able to walk me through the completion of the set up and my system is now off and running, monitors, computers, IPad, and IPhone... I am not a tech savvy person, so this was a great beginner system and it as right where I need it to be; in my budget! Sure the systems for $1000+ may have more stuff, but this system currently is perfect for what I needed and wanted. I will need to provide a better review 6-12 months out for the motion detection and emailing features etc... For the price, very good.

Not a bad investment for your dollar

The product works well, once you understand it's capabilities and how to uses them. The day time recording is it's best feature, night vision is not bad close up, but harder to see facial features at 20 feet or more. Easy to install, and has nice motion or fulltime recording capabilities and playback. It's a good deal to get you up and running.

Great performance

I am very happy with this product. It was very simple to install and I like the extra features of the DVR. The cameras are very clear and I even installed one 1,000' away to cover my driveway gate! I got the 12v dc from my gate operator battery, then I used a direct burial RG-6 to get the video back to the house, and that camera looks just as good as the one installed on the house with the 60' cords that came with the system.

Great camera system great price

I brought this camera system a month ago and I am glad I did it is a great system easy setup. and the tec support was awesome I was having a problem with setting up the online viewing and sought help from a 3rd party company who worked at it for about 3 weeks with no success so I called the defender support team and got in contact with Michel and he had me all set and ready to view online and on my smart phone in about 10 minutes he really knew what he was doing. so one again great product and even better tec support." thanks again Michel"

Ordered this system on line and recieved it two days later, 45 minutes later I was watching my 4 cameras. Simple to install and use, left for vacation the next day and watched my house the whole week I was away.

GREAT Units!!

I recently purchased 3 of these units after having one unit set up for about 1 1/2 years. The ease of set up, the functionality of the cameras and DVR were very satisfactory. So when more surveillance coverage prompted me to buy more units, I came back to Defender to supply that need. I would recommend this particular unit to anyone wanting a decent image and ease of set up and use. Now I own 4 units and have no reason to check with another company. Defender has made security at my home very comfortable.
