cool concept, maybe not practical...

I thought this was a great concept, and product. However, it was rather large, and took up quite a bit of counter space. It did take 2 hours to chill, which is understandable because it has to make cold beverages, but some people, me included, don't like to wait to use a product. I thought the flavor from each pod was very good and taste just like the flavor represented. If you have plenty of counter space, and like me, like the idea of being able to make different flavored drinks all out of one machine and keep room in your refrigerator, this would be a great product for you.
Pros: Easy to use, Flavorful, "kold" As Advertised
Cons: Long Setup Time, Some Pods Didn't Work, Takes Up Lots Of Room

We received our Keurig Kold about a week ago. We didn't expect we would enjoy it as much as we have. Our kids love being able to make their own quick glass of soda. It's really convenient to have all different flavors on hand for when guests visit. Our family is not diet soda drinkers but now we can keep Diet Coke pods on hand when we have a visitor that drinks it. So far everything that we have tasted has been absolutely amazing. We adore how fizzy and fresh the sodas taste. The sports drinks takes so much better than the ones you buy in the store. Everything just has a fresher taste to it. It's extremely easy to use. Yes it is a bit noisy but nothing that's going to interrupt anything you're doing. The only thing that we hope to see in the future is for the price of the pods to go down. Right now it doesn't make sense to buy a four pod package of Coke for $5 when you can get a 12 pack of cans for $4. We really hope that as the Keurig Kold becomes more available the prices will be lowered. So far we have really enjoyed having our Keurig Kold. We look forward to see what comes out for it in the future. We would love to see a variety of juices available sometimes soon. It would be amazing to be able to make a fresh glass or orange juice in the morning or give the kids a ice cold apple juice with lunch.

Lots of Benefits, But Not for Everyone

I was excited to try this product. I'm a huge coffee drinker and enjoy the Keurig hot beverages, so I liked getting another option. When I received the product I was a little surprised by the size. Our first concern was where we could fit this in our kitchen. It's big. If you have a bar area, a large kitchen, or a break room in your office complex, that wouldn't be an issue, but it was for us. Once we plugged it in, the next challenge was waiting for the cool down period. For us, this period was just over two hours, as the instructions indicated. If you keep the machine plugged in, it will stay chilled, as a mini fridge would, but if you only plan to use it occasionally, it's something to think about. The taste of the beverages was excellent. The soda options tasted like fountain beverages and came out at the perfect temperature. I am a huge fan of flavored seltzer and liked having those options as well as the standard soda flavors. The non carbonated drinks were great as well. I loved the sports drink options. Overall, the price is steep for the pods. If you are a regular drinker of any of these beverages,. it's not the economic choice. However, if you like having options for guests (or yourself!) it's a great way to store a lot of drink options in a small amount of space, and be able to provide each guest with their perfectly chilled beverage of choice. Bottom line, I'm not sure this will catch on with the masses as the coffeemaker did, but this is a great option for offices and consumers who like the idea of being able to make a single serving drink "to order". It's a great product if that's what you're looking for!

Great addition to my Keurig 2.0

I was really intrigued when I learned about the Keurig Kold. My spouse and I are not heavy soda drinkers and can easily make an 8-pack of 8oz cans last through the week. Our Kold is the perfect answer for keeping a variety of soda ready when needed. When we have guests visit, it's nice to be able to offer a selection of cold drinks along with the hot ones. The initial chilling period when setting up the Kold took a bit longer than we expected (3 hours), but that only gets done at the start. The machine itself is larger than a Keurig 2.0 and does make more noise - when at rest between drinks and also when making drinks. Not a deal breaker for me though and certainly easy enough to live with. I am surprised the water tank doesn't have a hinged lid similar to the coffee versions or a clear front window to see the water level. It's clear on the side, but we have ours near the end of a counter which blocks the side view of the tank. Making a cold drink is easy! Pick your pod, place it in the machine, close the lid and press the big button. The pods are rather large and I do feel like I'm throwing a lot of heavy plastic into the garbage afterwards. Most of the drinks I've tried have tasted very good. There are some of the low calorie versions which use artificial sweeteners I won't be purchasing again - trial and error. It's not a cheap solution to having soda ready and available, but it is a good alternative for households like mine where we like soda on occasion, but don't want to keep the cans stocked in a variety of flavors. It's also great when guests visit and would like a cold beverage other than water. For households which go through a lot of soda, I can't imagine this would be a good replacement as the initial cost of the machine and the price of 8oz pods would add up very fast.

Great product but can be costly

When I first received the Keurig Kold I was a bit surprised at the size of the machine. Comparing it to my coffee Keurig, I thought it was huge. Having seen the coffee makers on the shelves . I have limited counter space as of now until we build out home, so I had to put up some things to clear out some space. If you have a big kitchen or game room, then it should not be a problem, However, if you have a smaller kitchen this may not be for you. One thing that I did like is, it took two hours to chill for the initial set up. Once it was ready I primed the machine like asked and put my first pod in. It happened to be a Coke. I wasn't expecting much it to taste just like a coke from a fountain. However, I was really shocked how good it was. I've heard those soda stream machines did not taste like the real thing. So it was exciting. The next day, we wanted to try to root beer and my husband forgot to take the bottom seal off, so it ruins the pod. Which can get expensive if you forget. Now on to bad part. I think since the pods are so big, this machine can get very costly for someone who entertains a lot of like to drinks carbonated beverages. The box of 4 pods could run you about $6 including tax, so it could get really expensive. That's really my only complaint. Even the fact that it takes two hours to chill, if I wanted to take it somewhere, you have to unplug it and it would take two hours to chill again. I did hear that you can put ice in the water container so it stays somewhat cold. I think it would be cool to have one Keurig and on the left side have a water container that can bring in hot water, then right side have another container for the cold water. Other than the few issues, I think the product is good. There is going to be good and bad in every product. It can be costly, but if you have the money great, if not, no big deal! I think its going to be fun for entertaining though. I love that it spits out 8oz. That's all we need to be drinking anyway when it comes to high sugar drinks.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was, this machine is HUGE. It's pretty bulky and does not fit underneath my kitchen cabinets, so it takes up a lot of counter space. It was easy to set up, but believe the information booklet when it tells you the initial cooling process is a bit loud. The first pod I tried was Dr Pepper and the drink came out beige instead of cola colored. I wasn't sure if this was an error on my part (possibly not closing the lid tight enough) or the machine's, so I threw that glass out and made a Coke pod instead. That turned out normal & tasted exactly like the Coke you'd buy in a can or bottle. Since then I've also tried the vanilla cream soda, and the Dr Pepper again, both of which were very good. In addition to the bulkiness, another con is that the machine runs constantly to keep the water cold. Luckily it's not nearly as loud as the initial cooling, but unfortunately for me, I find it to be a bit annoying. I do love the wide variety of drinks you can make with it, though, and the temperature is cold enough that you don't even need ice cubes. I received my Keurig Kold free of charge for giving an honest review.

This is a super-fun luxury product! It's easy to use, even my 9 year old can operate it with ease. The drinks are super cold and taste great. I think this would also be a great appliance for a spa or company break room. There is a nice variety of drink options including flavored zero calorie water. The upcoming drink mixers intended for beverages like margaritas sound fun and yummy!

Use a peltier cooler soda can cooler for a quieter operation and less power consumption. I had a peltier cooler that worked great. Your engineers could easily come up with a cost saving solution.
