Incredible Technology

I just recently purchased the Kold and have been enjoying it very much. Some of the reviews I have read seem hyper-critical. Previously owning a Sodastream the quality of beverage is night to day with the Kold unit. The Coca Cola tastes like it came from a soda fountain. The only problem I have had is with the Orange Cream flavor pods. There is definitely a manufacturer issue since the syrup does not dispense. All of the Coca-Cola products worked flawlessly, unless I forgot to take off the freshness tab.
Pros: Tastes great
Cons: Large Machine

so, I was curious to see how this compared to my SodaStream Machine, but after a couple of days, I returned this thing.. Its ridiculously large, heavy and bulky, and takes 2 hours to "warm up".. The drinks tasted just like the name brand, but, you could buy a case of 24 cans for the same price as a 4 pack of these pods.. Kuerig is out of touch with the real world, if they think these things will become popular..do yourself a favor, either buy a SodaStream, or continue buying cans of your favorite soda, cause this thing will bankrupt you!

My biggest complain is that there is only a single size of soda. What I like about my hot Keurig is that I can make a small cup of tea or a large coffee with a single pod, but I can't do that with the Kold. I often only want half a can 4-6oz, or my husband wants a large tumbler but this only fills it 1/2 way. A nice first try, but I returned mine and will wait until they improve the design.

Cons: Single Size Drink, Loud

I am someone who is not a daily soda drinker. I do no mind the occasional flavored Craft soda, and I am someone who likes to always try different things. So This machine is a perfect fit. It really does deliver a perfectly chilly/fizzy, soda or other chilled beverage every time. There is a lot of variety of flavors with the release, but I hope that they eventually release even more. I'd love a good cherry cola, or cherry lemon/lime drink (like cherry 7UP) Also some sort of lemonade drink would be a big hit as well. I am not going to lie, $1 a drink is a little pricey for an 8oz beverage, but I'm hoping as the product becomes more popular, they will be able to release bigger size boxes of pods, or have sales that will make it a bit more affordable. Also aside from the cost, using this for a party would not only be costly it would be a hassle, as after six drinks the machine needs two hours to re-cool the water. There is an ability to change to party mode, but that requires adding ice to the water chamber ,which basically negates the whole point, of having a machine that makes instantly Kold beverage without ice. . Bottom Line: At the end of a long day of work, I do like the ability kick back have a nice cold drink of which I can choose from almost 30 flavors. It has been almost a month of owning it, and the novelty has yet to wear off.
Pros: Great Selection, Fast, Perfectly Chilled Drink
Cons: Pods Are Costly

Great Technical Achievement. Questionable practicality

I've owned my Kold since its introduction. I like it ok, but I don't yet see a compelling need for it. It is fine for drinking a beverage one at a time at home, but I can't grab several and hop in the car or boat, so I need to buy both pods and cans (or bottles). Preparation time is 90 seconds versus grabbing a cold beverage from the fridge. Start up for the appliance is noisy and lengthy, so I have to leave it plugged in (always on). One positive is that I can have a beverage selection in my pantry in less space than cans and I don't need to keep them all in my fridge "just in case" someone wants something I don't normally consume.
Pros: Good Carbonation, Good tasting, Portion Control
Cons: Big Pods, 90 Second Cycle Time, No Grab And Go Capability, Must Be Left On, Expensive Pods, One Beverage Size, Big Unit, One At A Time

This machine is a good looking handsome machine that will go with most kitchen decors. It makes ice cold drinks from pods. Some of the ice cold drinks are soda so they are carbonated. The name brand of the soda is a plus as coca cola is a trusted product tried and true. The coke and diet coke tasted like a regular soda, taste and bubbles were excellent. The Canada Dry ginger ale on the other hand was tasteless. The Keureg is easy to use with easy instructions. Pods are cute and go in easily. It is a simple closing of the machine on the pod and in seconds out comes the cold drink. The water that you get from the machine comes out cold and tastes good. There are a few concerns with the machine. One is the size. Small kitchens will not be able to put this on a counter as it takes up quite a bit of space. Even larger kitchens will be hard pressed giving up so much counter space for one machine.Especially if they also have a coffee machine and toaster and the like. The machine is a bit noisy and does not have an on/off switch. The machine being so large will be a turn off for many. The drink also took a bit of time to come out. The machine is also very expensive for what it does. The serving size from the pod is only 8 oz. Most people drink more than that. Using two pods at each serving can get expensive. There is a freshness seal on the bottom of the pod. If you forget to remove it and put the pod in and close the cover,then you have wasted a pod. That will also add to the expense. When people are in a rush you can not trust them to remember to remove that seal. Especially if they already use a Keurig and are used to just popping in a pod. To sum up it is a nice looking machine. Does mostly what it says it does,that is serving cold drinks with the ease of a pod. That can be carbonated too. However it is a bit too big,too noisy and too expensive to appeal to the average beverage drinker.

Cons: Takes Long, No Onoff Switch, Noisy, Size

awesome concept, not very practical

I was very excited to get this product in the mail. The concept is amazing! However, I received this rather large package that took 2 ppl to carry. I get the box open and am quite impressed. I set it up on the counter and realize it takes up a huge part of my counter space! I am a baker as well so counter space is a must for me.. so I start reading an am excited to get my first taste of soda and I had to let it warm up for 2 hours after I plugged it in.. so FINALLY I am able to make a nice refreshing coke.. and it was delicious.. even if it did take about a minute and a half to make.. Overall the result was as good as expected, but the size of the machine, the prices of the individual flavor pass are over priced and much more expensive than buying a 2 liter soda. It's slower than pouring a drink. But it is a good conversation piece when company comes over.
Pros: Saves Fridge Space, Conversation Piece, Tastes great
Cons: Slow, Long Warm Up Time, Too Big

We are Keurig users. The coffee maker has fit our needs well, so I was interested to try the new Keurig KOLD for cold beverages. The pods are available in a variety of options, like soda, flavored water, and sports drinks. When we opened the box, we were a bit surprised at how large the machine is. We have a smallish kitchen, with limited counter space. This machine could never live there permanently. Setup was easy. The instructions were simple to follow. The initial cool-down took two and a half hours. We immediately tried a Coca-Cola pod. I don't drink soda, but my husband said that it tasted like the original canned version, just not as much carbonation. I tried the Flyte Red Rush sports drink. It came out cool, at 43 degrees. I enjoyed the flavor of it. I'd continue to buy them. Large Gatorade bottles take up a lot of room in the fridge. I also used the Keurig Kool plastic no-spill glass for this beverage, and I really liked it. No chance of spills with the straw removed! My husband said it would be perfect for the "man cave." Overall, it was very easy to use, just like our Keurig coffee maker. However, it's an expensive, and very large, machine, so it may not be practical for everyone. It can produce up to 6 cold drinks in a row, so great for occasional everyday use, but not if you were entertaining a group. Disclosure: I received this machine and pods in exchange for my unbiased review.
