Just purchased this unit, and after over 3 hours of running at setup, called Keurig. They advised waiting another hour. Did so, and no change. Unplugged the unit and it seemed to start all over, but after running for about 15 minutes, did allow it to continue through setup. Now I make a drink, wait half an hour for the "snowflake" to stop blinking, then I can make another. "Corporate" will call me Monday, with some additional advice. So far, I cannot express how underimpressed I am with this device and its apparently squirrelly technology. I will write a positive review when I am shown something positive to write about. It IS capable of making a decent, fairly pricey, less than room temperature, small soft drink, every half hour or so....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well but...

The Keurig Kold, works fairly well but there are flaws. First of all it takes way longer to finish the initial chill time than 2 hours, for me it took 5 1/2. Once it's finally done and you've done the initial priming pick out which flavor you want, insert the pod, and hit the button. Nothing happens..you think oh no it's broken. Nope, just walk away, take a nap, or change the oil on your car and it might be done when you get back. Ok, I'm exaggerating but it does take around 75 seconds to make each drink. That doesn't sound that long but compared to a kcup it seems unbearable while you're waiting for it. Now you do have your drink at least, mine puts them out at 45-47 degrees which while cold does need ice. It does make a couple of the drinks nicely but some end up with too much carbonation. the Dr. Pepper and Red Barn Cane Cola in particular just don't have the right carbonation to syrup ratio, way too much carbonation on both. The Red Barn Lemon-Lime and Spiced Root Beer, Flynns Vanilla Cream, and Flyte Red Rush all come out pretty tasty and hit the mark nicely. Another bad mark is it only makes drinks in 8 oz. size, you'd think Keurig would've went with 12 oz. so it'd be the same size as a can of soda. Overall I'm giving this 4 stars, it does the job it's made for nicely and my main complaints about syrup ratio could probably be fixed with reworking of mixture in the pods. Disclaimer: I received this .free in exchange for my unbiased review.

I'm a soda junkie so I use this product on a daily basis. I make 2-3 sodas per day and the Keurig Kold gets it done FAST and EASY! It's nice to be able to choose different flavors based on my mood rather than be stuck with a whole store-bought 12-pack. The machine is completely quiet except for the initial 2 hour refrigeration phase. It's simple and fast to clean, and get this: You don't need ice in your drinks because they come out already cold! And super fizzy! I highly recommend Flynn's Vanilla Cream. Delicious! Next on my list to try are the margaritas.

Fresh Taste & Choices, Small Serving Size

The positive, the drinks are very fresh and delicious, without needing to purchase the carbonation. I think this is a really cool concept. The cream soda, root beer & sparkling waters were most enjoyable, and I look forward to trying the iced teas. The negative: the drinks are only 8oz, which isn't enough to get me through a meal, with a lot of waste from the pod. The machine takes a lot of counter space, it's about double the size of my Keurig Coffee Maker. Granted, this is the first of it's kind and I'm sure it will downsize over time. Overall, I think this is an innovative product. As someone who doesn't generally purchase soda, this will come in handy for guests to have options.

great novelty, but incredibly inconsistent

I received the Keurig Kold Drinkmaker through Influenster and was so excited to test it out! I am familiar with Keurig and love the ease of their machines. The machine took almost 4 hours to chill initially. The refrigeration component is also rather loud. I found this to be inconvenient. Once the machine was ready, I made a variety of different soda pods. The process was very simple and easy. Pop in the pod. Press the button. Tada! A small amount of soda was produced. I personally thought the 8 ounces were a great size. I don't like to drink too much soda in a sitting, and a 12 ounce can is generally too much (though I can probably finish it if I tried). The disappointing part was the fact that the product was not consistent cup to cup. I used to Coca-Cola pods. One tasted great - perfect amount of fizz, perfect amount of soda syrup. I thought the machine was promising. When I made a second cup with a new pod, it was flat and more syrupy. When using the Orange-Cream pods, I faced a different problem. The first pod only came out as sparkling soda - no syrup. I tried another Orange-Cream pod, and it turned out fine. I tried a third one, and it was just like the second. I'm not sure why the syrup didn't come out. So far, that is the only soda pod that had this problem. The Canada Dry pod seemed to be lacking in syrup. I'm not sure if this is a general statement for all of the Canada Dry ones, or simply the one I used (seeing as how the Orange-Cream pods varied greatly). But overall, that was lacking in sweetness and flavor. Also. The size of this machine is HUGE! It takes up a lot of counter space. And I'm not sure how much energy this this actually uses. I would not recommend this machine to anyone. It was so inconsistent, to the point where a couple cups of made-soda was thrown down the sink. I wish I could say I loved it, but a can of soda is simply way more convenient, and is generally way more consistent in taste.

World of Coca-Cola's tasting room...in your home?

I was very excited when I checked Keurig.com and saw that the Kold was finally released. However, I heard very negative things about this machine concerning the price, the size, wasted pods, lack of consistency of the beverage taste, and the loudness. However, I decided to purchase it anyway, and if I didn't like it, I would send it back for a refund. It turns out that I am in love with the Kold. The Coca-Cola I brewed tasted just like fresh Coke from a fountain drink machine. The temperature was just right, as well as the carbonation. The convenience of this machine is very legit; you only have to insert the pod and press a button. People were ranting about how loud it was when it was sitting on the counter, but I can't even notice it when I am more than three feet away. I also really like how I don't need a new carbon tank like I do for my Sodastream. I can't wait to show my friends how innovative Keurig has been to shift from coffee to ice-cold beverages. However, there are a couple of negatives I have about it. The manual said it would take two hours to get through its initial chill, but it took mine over five hours. I was a little worried that it wasn't working correctly. The machine is quiet when in sleep mode; it sounds like a mini fridge. But on the other hand, it sounds a little loud when the drink is being made. I also had one defective pod, and I did remove the freshness seal. Despite these negatives, I would totally recommend the Kold over the Sodastream. Way to go Keurig Green Mountain! You have a big fan on your hands!

The Keurig Kold is an interesting product! I can see a lot of potential with it, but I see a lot of problems as well. You can have a fresh, great tasting cold drink at the touch of a button. It doesn't take a lot to set it up, basically remove the tape sit it on the counter, plug in, let cool for 2 hours, run a glass of water through it and you're ready to rock and roll. There are a number of flavors available, from name brand soft drinks, to flavored waters and sports drinks. However, it's kinda large and takes up a good bit of counter space. It's also kinda pricey. I have a family of 5 and although we don't let our kids have cokes on a regular basis we keep some on hand for guests etc. But to have these on hand you average almost $1.50 for one small drink. I'm hoping that these prices may come down in the future because I really think it's a neat product!! I was given this product complimentary in exchange for my unbiased review. Due to the pricetag I honestly do not think I would own one had I not received mine for free.
Pros: Easy to use, Easy setup, Neat Product
Cons: It's Very Large, Very expensive
