Very impressive

i've had my eye on this unit for a couple of years now, and finally at Christmas time this past year I bit the bullet and took the plunge. I'm over the moon happy with this unit. The ease of use, the picture, sleekness and over all design of this unit is nothing short of incredible.
I had an issue with the remote first out of the box, a quick call to CS had that resolved in seconds., it required pairing with the unit. Connected to my home theatre, makes this nothing short of spectacular. Last weekend had friends over for dinner and a movie, I know a couple of folks are now seriously considering this unit. We watched a couple of 3D movies, we felt like we could walk right into the action, this feature is a nice side bonus. I'm having a love affair with my TV...
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, friendly user interface, design, amazing customer support
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gritty Picture Quality

I have one audio issue with this product, and that it sounds like an old plastic radio from the 1960's.
Now for the countless picture quality issues.
First if you have any lights on in the background you will see thick red and green dashes about 6 inches long, and 2 inches wide across the entire screen of this TV.
2nd all numbers, and letters have blurry edges.
3rd the colors are not smooth, they are gritty looking. Like looking at colored sand.
4th the skin tones seem out of focused, which brings your attention to of course to the blurry lines around the facial features, especially the eyes.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, gritty colors, blurry outlines, bad skin tones
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Greatest Picture on a TV - However, too many moving parts?

I love the picture on this Samsung TV. Amazing is a good word to describe it !
I cannot believe how crisp, bright and full of (saturated) vivid color old DVD movies and shows look (non blue-ray). The details, wow!
I am amazed how well, DVD's that looked mediocre, now look as good or better than blue-ray discs - or even the movie did in the theatres.
I went to the attic and started bringing down my old DVD collection. The details you now can see are mesmerizing.. Even an old movie like Death Down The Nile (Agatha Christie) with Bette Davis and Maggie Smith, mesmerizes you. Details in the clothing, the cabins, the makeup, etc. Get one if you have an extensive DVD collection and want to see your movies better than brand new. You will watch each and everyone again just for the experience.
I don't love the multiple screens and multiple setting menus, that sometimes appear to have a mind of their own. (You will set something up, and for some reason it will change by itself.)
The TV Run hot so it is important to have good ventilation around it. I mounted mine on a wall bracket for added flexibility - it is light in weight. I also like the placement of the power cord and the inputs.
One thing that bugs me is how low the volume has to be to get adequate sound (even via a audio visual receiver). I was told by the salesman that is due to how thin the actual TV speaker's have to be (?) No complaints, just a comment.
Overall, be careful because you will find TV addicting once again!
Last weekend I decided to watch an old Opera DVD of Aida.
Again, amazement on both the quality of picture and the sound (via the receiver).
Bravo Samsung! But you need to simplify the menus and make sure that motherboard works properly.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, good design
Cons: complexity of menus
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After 2 days of watching beautiful picture I discovered 2 red dead pixels on the screen. I did not expect from this high end model un55h7150 with original Samsung panel to have problems. well, if you watch from normal 6-8ft you can not see any dead pixels. Picture quality is excellent especialy with high quality video and blueray. Overall I am happy with this tv.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!
