This is by far the best TV that I have ever owned. The HD and smart TV features are absolutely the cat's Meow.... I would recommend this product to everyone. Way to go Samsung! Keep up the great work in producing such a wonderful way to view video.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Design, Weak Software
on June 10, 2014

The good:
The design is top notch, one of the best looking TVs made to date.
1) The base extends from one end to the other, which integrates well with design. The base has a lovely soft metal look with clean industrial curves.
2) The thin bezel makes the TV appear even larger than it is.
3) From what I see the Ultra Clear Panel is only offered on the higher end Samsungs, so the H7150 appears to be the lowest model to get it. It is worth it, since it brings out the black levels, which would otherwise look like dark grey on a more matte finish. It does have a slightly higher reflection than the other Samsung "matte" finishes, but worth it to me.
4) Setup is straightforward.
The ok:
1) HD content look great, non HD content is weak. Perhaps the HD looks so good, it makes standard video really look inferior. Perhaps it could be the Time Warner video compression for standard video, who knows.
2) Sound is rather anaemic. The sound is down firing rather than front firing, so some of the sound is probably also being sent to the wall behind the TV. The H7150 replaces my old Samsung DLP, which had much better sound.
3) The Smart Remote Control is handy compared to the standard remote. It is light in weight, so your arm does not fatigue quickly. It does not have all the features of the standard remote or other remotes, so you will need two remotes. The standard remote is a bit laggy on the commands compared to my Harmony One remote, so I will need to setup the Harmony for the TV and keep the Smart Remote Control close by for app and text usage.
4) Color setup was ok out of the box. I'm still figuring out the best options, but it is nice to see I have many setup options to play with. I can see the color is rich, so I should not have a problem dialing in what I want.
The bad:
I understand a new product having a few software bugs, but this TV's software was released unfinished in my opinion. The TV is running the latest version 1110 at the moment.
1) Smart View 2.0 is slow and unreliable.
2) Screen Mirroring drops out.
3) YouTube apps and other apps just crash and the tv exits back to TV. Too many crashes to be the apps problem, they have been around for sometime. The dual core Samsung TVs don't have these issues, so I am thinking the quad core setup is not up to snuff yet.
4) The browser is buggy and crashes.
5) The clear plastic that protects the TV on the lower half was installed too deeply at the factory when they installed the display on top of it. As a result, I cannot remove it, so I have to cut it off delicately. Mine was made in Mexico, so I don't know how long they have been made there. QA needs to keep an eye on this.
I would give it a 5 star just on the design and HD quality, but the software is really a poor execution at the moment. As a result, I think my 3 star review is justified until the software improves. I am hoping this review helps Samsung realize they need to put more resources on the software side and get things updated ASAP.
Pros: design
Cons: buggy software and apps

It's difficult to believe that this TV is not UHDTV. The image is incredibly rich, just drags you into it's world. Almost a dizzy sensibility even without 3D.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

So many bugs, such a waste of time and money

Within the first three months I had to schedule three repair appointments for this TV. The TV kept restarting after every 5 minutes. It is slow too and it has so many bugs in its software. Now, it's so called "smart features" are not working properly. I think it is a new model and samsung has not quite figured it out yet, I suggest you buy a more established model.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, software bugs, slow, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
