This is my 3rd Samsung and my first smart tv. The others still work, just updating to newer devices over time. The picture is AMAZING. And having the apps on hand, like hbogo and Amazon Prime, make viewing anything seamless and ridiculously easy.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to navigate apps, easy to control

Best upgrade I decided on, good sounds great picture. The remote buttons light up so that's a plus. Comes Netflix and Hulu ready. Cool and different stand design not your standard boring black rectangular stand.
Only thing going I wish they could have added to the remote is a specific button to quickly change the brightness/picture mode so you won't have to go through the menu.

Backlight bleed

My set has pretty bad backlight bleed through the center of the screen. Very noticeable when something light colored is on screen. Considering returning it.
Pros: Lightweight
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

love the TV and Samsung products. The remote is easy also with nice large numbers. I do hate the TV stand it came on it look cheap and it shins so much that it detracts from the TV. But the TV is beautiful and easy to hook up and beautiful picture. I owned a Samsung before and loved it that is why I bought this one. If you have older accessories like VCR's it only has one set of AV inputs in the rear.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: tv stand is cheap and too shiny
