This is a GREAT TV. Had family over the Holidays. They could not believe the fantastic picture this TV puts out. They were stunned. It is not 3D, but the picture, colors and fast action knocks your socks off. Have friends with me now watching the big game. It is like we were there. Some had told me anything over 46" is too big. Baby, it maybe BIG, but it is beautiful and make watching an experience. Even when I switch to AIR TV with the Smart Hub, the HD channels are crystal clear.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Put this 55" TV in my bedroom after originally buying the same 48" TV for my bedroom. At first I didn't think I would have the space for it on my dresser, but I actually do. (Still have the 48" - it is mentioned later in my review.) Picture and sound quality were great right out of the box. I am using an HD antenna - yes, no cable or satellite hooked up to this TV and the picture is outstanding! DVD and Blu-Ray movies both look and sound great on this TV with my Samsung Blu-Ray player. No need for extra speakers if you turn on the DTS TruSurround and the DTS TruDialog if you prefer because the sound is over the top! Remote is user friendly, stand swivels if needed, view from an angle or the side of TV is good compared to other LED TV screens. Set up was a little harder with the 55" than the 48" - had a little trouble with the stand/base this time. The screws didn't want to cooperate. You need to be sure you tighten the screws on the stand/base until you hear a click or pop prior to attaching stand to TV screen or it will not be stable. (Learned this because I have now put three of these type stands together.) This is my second Smart TV and I have still yet to use all this TV offers. Love the guide that you get for over the air programming on this Smart TV and it is right on the remote which is great. I highly recommended this TV and did replace the 40" Samsung LCD in my living room area with this same Samsung LED Smart TV model. What I actually did was moved the 48" into my living room area because the viewing distance from the TV is much closer to the TV than in my bedroom and the 55" is now on my dresser. The price is great for this TV and all it offers. Yes - there is newer technology out there, but at this point in time you simply cannot go wrong with this TV. I did extensive research prior to purchasing this TV and I would buy it again and I actually did so even after looking at the new 4K televisions and doing research on them. I do not think they have quite perfected the technology as I see a little better picture on them in the store, but sound needs improving and so does the overall design of 4K TV with the stand. Reviews are very mixed on the 4K also. The sound on this LED Smart TV is much better than any 4K I listened to in the stores. The refresh rate is just fine also... TV has a really great picture. Love it, love it, love it! Only regret is that I didn't buy a taller TV stand for the living room area; the sound is better if the TV is up higher and you don't have to worry about seeing yourself in the TV if it sits up higher. But that was my mistake by trying to save money on a TV stand. It can be rectified in the future by replacing the TV stand. It's okay for now; but not ideal so I thought I would mention it. Hopefully someone will read this review prior to making the same mistake I did by placing it on a TV stand that sits too low. Overall this is a great TV... go for it! There are lots of options to set the picture to your liking and viewing environment. The E-MANUAL on the TV is very helpful and can be accessed easily on the remote.

Cons: stand should be larger for the 55" tv

The size, 55 in., is perfect for our viewing space. The picture quality is outstanding and the setup was a breeze. Overall, an excellent investment.

Great user features : menu guide , instant personal picture preferences Outstanding color & clarity ,HD .Everyone that owns one says buy one ,you wont be unhappy. I am completely satisfied.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: tv speakers could be tweaked for better sound

This is a good product but it's performance does not blow me away. The picture is good most of the time, but it is not spectacular. The picture in a room that has several windows sometimes shows reflections.
Even after adjusting, the blacks seem to black and wash out details.
The characters in the picture sometimes jump. This seems to happen more frequently while viewing old sitcoms.
The sound although acceptable most of time occasionally sounds like it has a cracked speaker. This is especially true when there is a lot of bass in the program being viewed. It happens at all sound levels.
None of the above problems would prevent me from recommending this product to a friend.
I am interested seeing how it performs in the long run.

Awesome TV

This TV was purchased to replace a 42 inch Plasma TV that died after 8 years of constant use. I was hesitant at first because I loved the Plasma but I must say this TV has an awesome picture. I am not one to take advantage of having a Smart TV but it just comes with the territory. The only problem I have had was playing a homemade DVD and maybe there is a setting somewhere that I haven't found that would fix the problem of the picture being stretched across the screen, which cut off part of the picture and made everyone short and fat. Other than that I am very happy with it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

A lot of TV for the money

You get a lot of TV for the money. Excellent quality and workmanship on the TV too. Having had another Samsung TV, I bought this one as I've had no problems with the other having had it for 3 years. I bought this one for the Super Bowl & couldn't be happier. Awesome product!
