Labels do stay on

We have used a few different cartridges and different label sizes and it seems there is a 50/50 chance that the labels do not stick firmly on the manila or plastic folders we use. I loves my earlier models of Dymo printers that used paper labels. This one is terrible.

Battery life is Bad

This is my second one. The battery died just over a year on both (warranty period is 1 yr) and need to purchase a new battery for just about the cost of a entire new unit. While the labeler is great. Once of the best I have seen and I love using it. /so easy and simple, be prepare to purchase a new battery in a year. The unit is connect to a usb which is a power source and has a rechargeable battery, but once it fails while not work. Both units battery failed in just over a year. Same as other reviewers. I would give this 10 stars if it charged or worked with just the USB or if the battery did cost so much.

Smart machine. Insanely bad battery !!

I bought my PnP almost two years ago and have printed 8 cartridges and it just worked perfectly. Now it has not been turned on for 14 days and is completely dead. A new battri costs almost the same as the machine and I know it is a general problem known to dealers. Mine is purchased in Europe, where there is a two-year warranty, but no help from the dealer on the battery part. Beware!

Will not recognize itself as a printer

This worked great until I got my Mac upgraded. Now when I open v8 I get a notification that needs to run Add Network Printer Utility, and then it doesn't detect it. Can't use it at all anymore.

Nice label printer...when it works
on January 2, 2022

I bought this label printer several years ago. Plugged it into my Mac. Downloaded and installed the software for it. It worked perfectly for several years.
The battery died which, as others have said, makes the label printer useless. I did buy a replacement battery which brought it back to life. The printer had shown up as off-line but, with the new battery, it is back online. Cool: back in business.
Not so fast. Now running Monterey v12.1, I can print a label, the printer icon pops up in the dock for a few seconds, then disappears but no label gets printed. Odd as it worked perfectly fine before the battery died.
Things I've tried: - Removed the Dymo label app, rebooted, then reinstalled. - Unplugged the label printer, removed the printer from the Mac's set of printers, plugged it back in. It showed up. Printed a label. Same result as before: no label came out. - Check the tape cartridge that had been working before the battery died. It looks normal: no jams, properly seated. - Tried a new USB cable. Didn't make any diff. - Removed the Dymo software, removed the printer from the Mac list of printers, unplugged it, shutdown the Mac. Powered it back on. Plugged in the printer: it showed up in the list of Mac printers. Reinstalled the Dymo label app. It saw the printer. Tried to print a test label: nothing, silence, no hint that anything ever made it to the printer. - I bought a new label printer. It is only slightly more expensive than a battery replacement. It did exactly the same thing: looks normal in all respects except it doesn't print anything. - I plugged it into different USB ports. Sometimes that helps. No joy there either.
I have Googled this printer, troubleshooting, found suggestions (they were all what I had already done), and basically did pretty much all I could do from the user side. I ever went thru the troubleshooting section of the user guide. Nothing helped.
At this point, I'm stuck. I do IT for a living and have for many decades. I've worked with all kinds of printers from many manufacturers. I can usually figure these things out. This one, however, has me baffled.
