LESS FEATURES+LETTER SIZE LIMITS = LAME

I had the 3000 but the printer head would often clog so I decided to jump up to the 4200 in hopes to eliminate that issue. I assumed that the same features would be available on the "better" model plus some. WRONG! With the 3000 I could print a double line on 3/8" label with large bolded lettering on both lines. Now with this 4200 as soon as I hit return to start next line it limits me to a max of 8 pts. SO LAME! Can hardly read it and wastes half the tape! I hate this machine and I feel cheated!
Cons: Eats Batterys, Difficult To Use, Double Line Size Limits
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the worst label maker we've purchased. very limited and hard to navigate

label jam remove cartridge

well i have used this label maker for labeling all the wiring in my 1960 mfg sea cruiser and use it daily in my access control business now i start to use it and it jams i replace the cart. and it prints one label and then jams i do everything but take it apart what can i do

Based on what you have described I would recommend cleaning the print head. There is a small cleaning tool on the inside of the label door. Use the soft side of the cleaning tool and thoroughly wipe down the print head- located directly across from the roller. This will remove any adhesive that may be left over from your first label jam. This is by far the best Industrial label printer in its price range.A must have for Technicians who need multiple styles for different projects.
Pros: Crisp Printing, Durable Labels, Easy To Set Up, Versatile, Prints Fast, Easy Controls

Labels don't stick very good

I bought this thinking the labels would be better quality then the cheap ones but they are not. I bought the vinyl because it said it would stick to textured surfaces but it won't even stick to my pelican cases. I feel it is a waste of money as the cheap one I bought from my local supermarket sticks better. It does have some cool cable printing options but that's about it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I buy one a fee month ago and the thermal is bad or broken and i send email for change and dont answer me nothing at this time! I never buy another labelmaker or something like that with that brand.

This is the second one of these I've had and the same problem. The screen goes out and you can't see what you are typing. The 1st one went out while still under warranty. The second one went out while just sitting in the house.

Missing symbols and print is not very crisp.

Where's the "&" symbol??
The printing on the label is not very crisp. it seems it has a problem printing over where the backing separates on the back. The print is not consistent.
